Creepiest time hunting EVER!!!!

The only thing that didn't scare me but made me think it could've been more serious was: last year my dad and his hunting partner bought some land here in Quebec, specifically for hunting! Since they have access to some heavy machinery we decide to make some trails, build a smal hunting camp and a place to park the trucks far for the stands!
We were there working one day and I had to go back to the truck to get some stuff when I met some guy on a Quad who asked me to stop and being pretty rude he told me to leave because I was on private property!
I then told him that if he wanted he could meet the owners of the land and to wait there for a few minutes but he just mumbled something and left!
I then tought about it for a few minutes and remembered something neighbors told us a bit before we bought the land, there is a big piece of land right next to ours that is the property of the Dubois family (big mobster family in Quebec)
So I guess the guy was patroling for them or something!

Myself and 4 other buds of mine found a trailer one day when we were looking for a place with a good backstop to set up some fun shooting for the day. The trailers was hidden REALLY well with tons of natural cover and camo mesh? kinda deal......my bud found it when he walked into the bush to use the washroom. We were gonna take a peak inside but the smell was HORRIBLE and tons of empty jugs around it and such so we left it alone....not before my bud threw a flare at it first tho. I kinda disagred with his choice(the whole only you can prevent forest fires deal!) but i wasn't gonna go over there to pick it up either. Turned out to be a meth lab.

October 10th in Dauphin, Manitoba - usually by now the dark coloured choppers are checking out the area, especially the bush on the the north slopes of the Riding Mountain, to take down this seasons grow ops. Just had 4 -6 inches of heavy, wet snow and no frost until Thursday night- is weed "better" after a frost? The last few years have usually produced a couple of larger grow op busts around this time but nothing this year yet:) Kayceel

Be real careful if you find a patch of weed or other drug dealings in the bush.
These guys have been known to shoot on sight, and frequently set man traps in the area of their stash/grow.
A number of hunters checking their camp last summer were held by druggies for a few hours. That was only a few miles from my moose camp.
Cops never got a one of them.

Forest fires are unfortunate things. Which way does the wind blow in your neck of the woods? :)

Thank god we don't have meth in Ontario. Seems to be a West Coast thing. Cocaine is (apparently) popular in the Toronto/Ottawa crowds and as far as I know they don't grow it in the bush. At least in the Canadian bush, lol.

You really gotta get out more!

Got kids? Ask them. Ask a local Police Officer.

Check around online. There are several really good photo essays showing before and after photo's of meth addicts. Sad. Scary ####, too.

Once you figure out what you are looking at, you start to see them all over the place.

Cheers

No Meth in Ontario? Think again. Perth County is well known as the meth lab capital of eastern Canada.

I am a firefighter, and we have spent quite a bit time in training learning the dangers and warning signs of meth labs.

Highly dangerous due to their volitility, and of course due to the health concerns of the left-over chemicals that are by-products of production.

Ps Chances are if they are well known Drug Dealers they probably have some sort of criminal record and are probably not allowed to be in possession of firearms.. Might be a easy way to take out the trash

I guess I spoke out of turn. I don't travel in circles where I'd be exposed to meth. And my son is only 17 months old. I'd poop my pants if I found drugs in his pocket. Actually heard a story from someone while in Vancouver recently about their teenager having a drug problem, it was heartbreaking. Scary stuff for sure.
