Hi guys for those who own the T97NSR, what is your accuracy at 50yards or 100yards?

I use mine with a trs25 3 moa red dot and at 50 yards the spread is around 10cm, is this normal or I am just a bad shooter? :p

I was getting about a 12" group at 75 yards with surplus chinese5.56, tried a few winchester .223 and they were all grouped in around 2 inches, but I hadn't zeroed my scope for them to see exactly what they'd do. That's with the flat top upper and a Leupold Mark AR MOD 1 3-9x40mm on top of it.

I was using Chinese 5.56 ammo too, wow, didn't know ammo can make a big difference

I pulled 1/2" at 50m with that norc ammo from another gun, so...

Let me guess, you did that standing shooting freehand?

I watched an XCR getting 6 inch groups at 100yds go to 3 inch groups just by switching to American Eagle.
Norinco 5.56 is cheap plinking ammo and no one should buy it expecting consistent results. It will be different in every rifle you run it through, some may do well with it but most will not and it will be different from case to case and sometimes box to box.

There have been so many threads started by guys having problems with it that non of my rifles will ever see a single round of it.

You get what you pay for.

Well you wouldn't be testing for accuracy standing up, nor would you zero in a gun. Cannot comment on the ammo if you haven't shot it.

I bought a 1600rd case of the crap a while back. The SL8 and Tikka couldn't do better than 5 MOA with it. A Norinco M4 with an EO Tech and 3x can get 3 MOA. In comparison I get 2MOA out of the SL8 and M4 with any other ball ammo. More important is the fact that every 50rds I get a miss fire with the crap. 1 MOA is an unusual with any make of ball ammo, let alone Norinco.

I put some of the Nork ammo through my 700 and it's normally a tack driver.....pretty poor results with that ammo.

I actually ran some through my Swiss Arms last year during a few service rifle matches. Accuracy was pretty decent. The fireballs coming out of the ejection port, not so much...

I'd run it through a Norc M4gery without worry, but from now on, my Swiss Arms will only be fed handloads/American Eagle ammo.

Ammo makes a huge difference with any firearm. I was plinking with American Eagle 55grain black box bulk tactical stuff. Reasonable plinking accuracy. When I used the smallest back aperature "1" it wasn't bad. In line with my CZ 858 and cheq surplus.

At about 120 yards I danced around a jar of tannerite using number "1" for the sight and the Eagle tac stuff. 3 shots just slightly off. 4th shot dead on. KABOOOM! Made my day.

D&H mags have run flawless for me in all my firearms including the T97. If anyone is looking for which ones are hood and aren't in the T97.

As for accuracy. I'd give PMC a try. But keep in mind the twist rate on the T97. Best accuracy will probably be in the 62-77 grain ranges.

It's not the ammo.
I didn't find the T97 to be a very accurate rifle in general.
I was shooting it with the factory iron sights and at 50 meters prone using a variety of ammunition was doing about the same as you with your battery scope there.
I posted this actually:

The best I could do was with the surplus US 5.56mm Green Tips that have started being brought in by AmmoSupplyKate. I was only even then getting about 3-4" groups at 50 meters.
I get better groups out of my good condition SKS and old surplus chinese ammo at that distance!
I can shoot 3-4" groups with my A1 AR15 with iron sights at 100 meters on a good day so I know it's not my shooting ability. I'm an average/above average shot with iron sighted rifles (pretty crappy with handguns and scopes though :D)
I've also heard unfounded internet "stories" of people getting sub MOA accuracy at 50 meters with one using iron sights but I haven't seen it in person yet from anyone I know who owns or shoots one so I call horse s**t.

It sucks because that aside, they are great guns, beefy, simple, reliable as hell. They're a touch expensive for what you get but this is Canada eh? :(

Also for the record, Norinco isn't bad for what you pay in my opinion. It's cheap and it still hits a target easily at 100 meters.
You get a stoppage by FTF once in a while.
Tap rack, save money.
Nothing makes me laugh more than Norinco snobs that only feed their precious shiny guns the most extravagant .223 pressed from solid Unicorn Horn Bone shavings or whatever lol

If you put a scope on it and shot it properly, I bet the gun would be much more accurate than 95% of the shooters saying it is inaccurate.

IMO you should never ask how accurate a gun is on this forum unless it is a precision rifle in the precision shooting section of this forum. Otherwise you will just get a bunch of hearsay.
