6.5 Creedmoor

Thks Also - but still not what i asked ? RJ

Sure seemed like what you asked... what do you want know? That basically it is a shortened .308 case slightly blown out (minimal taper) and with a 30 degree shoulder... it was designed to approximate .260 capacity but allow the use of longer bullets while maintaining a short action.... it is a good LR cartridge and a good medium game cartridge too... what else do you want to know? I had a M77 in the CM but have since sold it and intend to stick with my .260's and 6.5X55mm's... I only use the 129/130 bullets in 6.5 and don't need the additional mag length... if I was hell bent on 140's, I would probably still be using the CM.

You asked who's shooting one and what it is. I was shooting one but no longer am. As to what it is, as has been mentioned, it's a short action case that will do what the 6.5x55, 260, 6.5x47 will do. I didn't like that hornady was the only brass available however you can make your own from 243 for example. I'm very happy with the 6.5x47 which is what I shoot.

I had one built on a Stiller action but Vanessa seems to have claimed in for her own. Great shooting rifle with low recoil. She's killed 3 whitetails and an elk last year and a big Dall ram this week with it. For a low recoil mountain rifle it fits the bill perfectly!
