Missing Alberta Sheep Hunter

I've spent a number of days in that same country by myself. RIP, I will certainly take a moment of silence next time I am out hunting. Condolences to his friends and family.

God bless his family. I read that the bear got him. Found his body over 100m away from his rifle. The rest of you guys keep safe, them mama bears are apparently quite mean.

Very sad outcome. Always unfortunate when these types of things happen, I truly hope they do not make the situation worse and destroy the bear for doing what is natural to it.

The death of an outdoorsman and hunter is indeed the reduction of an already endangered species. Good thoughts for the man, his family, and his friends, and may he rest in peace.

Heard the searchers found the man's remains and a sow with cub close by on the tv news last night. Very sad news.

Thoughts and prayers to the man's family.

Makes you think now as my hunting party preps to goto moose camp in 3.5 weeks from now.

I ain't never seen 'em, but my common sense tells me the Andes is foothills, and the Alps is for children to climb! Keep good care of your hair! These here is God's finest scupturings! And there ain't no laws for the brave ones! And there ain't no asylums for the crazy ones! And there ain't no churches, except for this right here! And there ain't no priests excepting the birds. By God, I are a mountain man, and I'll live 'til an arrow or a bullet finds me. And then I'll leave my bones on this great map of the magnificent...

I don't believe that the grizzly is "endangered".
Maybe if there was a season, it would cut down on encounters. Maybe not.

Every effort should be taken to elliminate those bears now. They are habituated now to killing a human.

Yes, they have found a new food source.

When Robert Wagner was killed and eaten , just across the highway from where I live, the powers that be wouldn't approach the site for three days, cause they wanted to relocate the sow and two cubs rather than destroy them. The year before, another hunter was killded near the Mountain Aire Lodge. They never did find that bear. Let's face it, a Grizzly bear's life has more value in this province than a human being.

Grizz

Guido mirrors the sentiment of most who spend much time in the foothills and livingstone range, I understand it's the same further N. I personally suspect the only place AB grizzlie's are endangered is in the minds of people sitting in offices in large cities. IMO even a limited hunt would be good for a variety of reasons.

My condolences to the family.
