Need a .308

Hi - I'm looking to buy a new hunting gun and I want some advice. I want a .308 (currently I use a Winchester 30-30). I want a gun that is "tacticool". I know that sounds silly but I like cool looking guns. Does anyone have any advice or links to where I can get a cool looking .308 (non-restricted) with a budget cap of $3,500 to spend. Please send me links to any you are familiar with, I've been doing some searches and found some cool ones at Wolverine Supplies but maybe you guys have some other ideas. Thanks
PS: By cool looking I mean I want it to look like an AR-15.
 
XCR-M. Closest looking to a .308 AR. Not my idea for a hunting rifle as it's bloody heavy and expensive. How about a Rem 700 Tactical in .308? Put a good scope and a bipod and it will look like a SWAT rifle. Cool enough?
The Keltec RFB is another cool looking rifle but it's a bullpup.
 
The Robinson Arms XCR-M is the closest you would probably get to "looks like an AR-15"... like this.

Once it does actually look like an AR-15 it becomes restricted and you can't hunt with it ... like this.

If that's "looks like an AR-15" to you.
 
You could also buy a Bushmaster ACR which comes as restricted and then do a barrel swap for about $900 to get it NR. It's a sweet looking rig I might add.

This is what I was looking for....pardon the naïve question, but do I have to order with a longer barrel to make it NR or do I order the barrel, install it and walk in the bush?

The ACR is a 223/556 rifle. Not a great deer rifle if you want a 308 hunting rig. I would suggest XCR-m, or an m1a1 in either the troy chassis or the sage EBR,
 
I have the m1a1 in Troy chassis. I can barely carry it from truck to bench. But it sure shoots well.

My xcrm weighs about half of that. Sorry to see it go but have to make room in the safe.
 
ATRS new offering, the Modern Hunter fits all your criteria, and even better, it's made in Canada. They do make some pretty top notch gear.
 
God damn, 3500 bucks? Please post pics when you get whatever you it is you choose, I ####ing love expensive cool looking guns.
 
LOL.....I tried googling some pictures of an m1a1 and I got photos of a tank....not the most efficient deer hunting gun...but probably works...:)
