Optics on KAC 14.5" SBR?

Hey guys, I just got a KAC 14.5" SBR and am wondering what you guys use for optics. I threw an elcan spectre on there and it seems to upset the awesome balance and handling of the rifle. I might throw my T1 on there.

Would like the magnification of a 1-4x though. I guess I'll try both and see which one is better

Well on my 14.5" I just sighted in my new eotech exps2-2 and vortex 3x magnifier. It everything you can expect it to be

I also have a aimpoint comp ml3 that I really like but it's second to my eotech.

The elcan is pretty beefy, and for some reason really throws the handling off on this rifle. Forgot to post a pic:

I threw the T1 on and it definitely feels way better but I've lost the magnification and the boner inducing elcan glass.

Anyone know of a light weight 1-4x optic?

Accupoint 1-4 is about 2/3 the weight of the Elcan. I'm changing the URX 3.1 for a BCM KMR 13 on my KAC. Going to shed some more weight off.

I am waiting for my Elcan Specter 1X3X9 to show up to top my KAC SR15 Mod 2, it should be an awsome duo... ETA in October... JP.

Vortex Sparc II would be my choice as far as it goes for a RDS.

Nice piece of kit btw - KAC sure make great rifles.

I went to the range with the rifle and a T1. The gun is a joy to shoot. I'll bring the elcan out next time too and see if it gives me better results at 300m

If I had only one upper to put a glass on it, Elcan would be a serious top 3 contender for a magnified optic, but that advise IMO gets really expensive when you have a handfull of them to glass!

It will be my first Elcan Specter, so for the weight, i dont know, the magnification is the interresting part of it and the quality, according to my dealer will be top shelve ( and the price to, i guess)... JP.

Unfortunately it feels like looking through a tube compare to the 1-4x with the smaller objective.

I have a spectre on my 14.5 rifle (which has a very solid 12" metal forend). I notice the weight of the both factors combined but find it reduces recoil and muzzle jump.

When you say upset the balance what context are you using that in? CQB/3-gun style matches or range shooting?

It just doesn't point and swing as naturally. I haven't fired the gun with it on. I will give it a go though.
