Hey, any of you Nutters remember the great debate over magazine capacity re the AIA mags being offered by Northern Republic Magazines, Inc?
I did order one of those mags back in June, but have heard nothing from them since. IIRC they were having their 20 rounders re-manufactured
to the new 10 rnd limit and would be due sometime in September or ?
Has there been any news since then?
I'll send a wire to them at NRM to see if I can get an update on how things are going.
If anyone has heard any news recently, please chime in.

Have a feeling you better try to take your mind off of things for another month ;)
Haven't heard anything either but... waiting like you.

I emailed them.... this is the response I received,

- Yes, the magazines are still coming. Unfortunately there were some delays with the whole process due to the RCMP's decision that the magazines should be pinned to 10 rounds. But rest assure, the magazines are still coming! We can't say exactly when they will be in Canada, but it will be in 2014.

And there's an update. I'm going to circle 2014 on my calendar.
NRM could be issuing monthly updates out to the folks who have ordered, to save both us and them from writing individual emails.
But I guess there's nothing new worth reporting until they know when they'll be in Canada.
It must be costing NRM a bit of money to have all those 20/20s converted to 10/20s after the RCMP changed its mind.
Stay tuned to this channel...

I just glanced at my calendar and noticed that another month has slipped by, so figured I'd give this a bump in case anyone forgot they'd ordered one of these mags.
I just conducted a search, but found no other threads pertaining to the topic. Has anyone heard anything since mid August? I'd just like to hear from NRM maybe
once a month or so letting us know if any progress is being made.
I've since got a ten rounder from the grumpy wolverine, but I'd kinda like to get the one I ordered earlier from NRM...

I'm not gonna ask this question to be a #### heheheh so please don't take it that way but....

is there a reason people are calling them AIA enfield mags????
there is no such rifle
there is an AIA M10 rifle ......
I think we would collectively have less hassle acquiring such mags if everyone stopped referring to the Lee Enfield rifles of wwI and wwII when referencing these mags.
the AIA M10 magazines do not fit any lee enfield rifles that I am aware of.
sorry if I'm being a nit picking retard but this whole AIA "enfield" thing has been bugging me for a long time LOL
the AIA series of rifles are not Lee Enfields , they are based on the enfields but they are not "enfields" so that should have zero to do with the magazine.

there are Elander M10 magazines in country right now if yer tired of waiting

I picked up two of the ELander AIA M10 mags from Wolverine, and they work great. Did Northern Republic already get your money? Maybe buy from Wolverine and cancel your NR order...

Then again, the AIA 10s are short, and the NR 10/20s are longer profile...

I surely wasn't suggesting folks bail on NR magazine. I look forward to their mags when they do come in. They should be supported for all the leg work to get these. I was just b*tching because of the use of the name enfield .
It's one of those days where I should be out hunting but I'm home on the couch after a morning of chainsawing 2 cords of what will be firewood.... Figure I'd unload my problems on the internet LOL

Wow...

Wow. It's like...Byzantine, man....

Imagine being dragged before a tribunal of pundits with the collective wisdom of a camel trying to decide whether
you're a felon or just a regular OK hoser guy, eh?

the firearms laws in Canada confusion can be summed up in some illogical questioning like this that can result you 3 years in jail: "is it still legal to wear an orange shirt on wednesdays while at the same time wearing blue adidas running shoes?"

" Not sure man... The RCMP can throw you in jail, will confiscate your shirt and running shoes. And you'll need to spend at least 50k$ to defend yourself in court"

" Ok but if i wear a somewhat red shirt on a Tuesday with blue nike running shoes Im good to go?"

" Yep thats legal"

...

reminds me of Asterix and Obelix in the lunatic house.

I do have a couple of the original AIA mags but really, 10 rounds is still a mag cap and is just silly.
I remember burnin thru crates of .303 in the Bren and crates and crates of x39 in the horde of d model sks's I owned back in the first 1/3rd of the 90's , all with no silly mag restrictions.
I dunno, these days I'm less of a range shooter and more of a hunting guy and while 10 rounds in the m14 are nice when I'm sitting on a frozen lake calling yotes and wolves...... it ain't a 20 rounder or a drum full so really, there is no thrill in a 10 round mag for me hehehe
meh..... everyone just wants to ruin our fun...
