My C8A3 build

Heading to the range. Will post pics of groups and make some videos of both my Tavor and the C8....

This will be fun, Hopefully no ones at the range this morning... But if people in the Victoria Area want to check out the C8 / Tavor i'm leaving around 1000 and will be at the range until 1300...

Time for some fun...

Here are groupings at 100 Yards with Norinco ammo...

In Blue is the Tavor Elcan Specter on 4X , In red is the C8A3 With Eotech.

By the way, This trigger is phucking garbage... This is the first time I shoot my Tavor off a bench and FML that trigger blows.... The trigger is fine for fun rapid fire at the 200 yard gong. But trying to print decent groups it phucking blows donkey d!ck....

Time for me to invest in a Geissele

Yup semi auto BCG, But had no issues at all today... ran 300 rounds thru the C8 without any issues...

I Did get rid of the Cadex grip... the C8 is so light a magwell grip works just fine.

Well you won't have issues at 300rds. All I can say is I find it funny everyone was going on about the HKMR223 line not having a F/A BCG but at least there's was calibrated for the weight to match the HK416 BCG...lol.

Is it just a standard S/A BCG for AR/15 style? It's not an issue but that is weak though and it actually causes more wear on the upper. But usually you are replacing those effective parts anyway at the end of the service life of the rifle. less mass and weight if I remember correctly on AR-15 rifles in regards too SA BCG's.

This is not true in the slightest. We have fired tens of thousands of rounds without any issues. It does not increase wear anywhere or decrease reliability in the slightest. The bolt carrier is not weakened and the carrier does not contain high pressure anyway. We have provided thousands of rifles for LE customers with the exact same bolt with no issues - even with .223 vs 5.56 which has much more effect on carrier velocity deltas than any carrier modification.

The design that was chosen removes less than a quarter inch of steel were the auto sear would contact. The semi carrier is the very early Colt AR15 version. Our instrumentation can't even measure the difference in carrier velocity between the two types. In addition, the heavy buffer adds more mass than has been removed from the carrier.

Our reliability is guaranteed based on tens of thousand of rounds fired in statistically significant samples of this semi carrier compared with hundreds of thousands of rounds fired through automatic carriers.

It is an internet myth that a semi carrier has any effect on reliability.

Thanks Matt, I've dropped the idea of finding a "D" marked BCG after today flawless range trip. I do have a Spikes Tactical ST-T2 Heavy Buffer and JP buffer spring. what are your thoughts on those ?

I guess I did not articulate what I was getting at properly, I apologize. It's not reliability but by having a SA BCG being lighter I was told that it wears out the upper faster do to the BCG being lighter weight and travels faster during the action. If that makes sense.
