Brakes for a norc?

Good question that I can't really answer. The PWS website states: "Designed for the AK47, this industry-leading flash suppressing compensator provides unparalleled muzzle control and recoil reduction." So I guess it is a compensator..."

Oh, and Brownells listed it as "availaible outside the US." We shall see soon.

but isn't that a flash hider?

Ishhh probably not....

They have both the M14 x 1 LH AND the norinco threaded model...why have both if they are the same...sorry dude, i think the brake wont fit...let us know.

Well, I received the "Dear John" letter from Brownells this am. Seems the FSC47 is indeed blocked by ITAR. Strange that Brownells doesn't filter that out so I wouldn't get my hopes up. :)

I am still trying to confirm the Blackrose Tactical model is the same. They sell them on fleabay (us site) but I can't find them on the BT web site. If you search fleabay for "Metric muzzle brake" it will pop up. Check out the pic, it is different than the one you linked to. The search continues.

I will update this thread if I find out more. If you could do the same that would be great.

Socom 18 shorty CanAm sold is .595x32 threading which is the same as any USGI M14 thread.
Standard Nork M14 is M15x0.75.
AK brake won't fit

hey i found this...

http://www.blackrose-tactical.com/m305-brake/

i<m pretty sure the thread you linked is the same rifle...so basically the brake he used is the blackrose tactical which could be the same..but also may not.

this one will fit, screws right onto the metric castle nut threads on the norcs, had to confirm by email :p

Send an email to xtreme gun shooting range in Winnipeg. I stopped in last night and they showed me some brakes they are producing in house, some for the M-305. No idea on price.

I just got the brake but it was unthreaded...sigh...now I have to send it back etc...I was looking forward to testing it this we.

Yikes, I ordered the same brake on Oct 1 and it's just sitting there "Processing". I am trusting that there aren't issues with a bunch without threads.

In any event, slow processing and poor communications make for a poor first impression with Blackrose.
