Look what this kid did to an SVT-40 !!!

That was pretty amazing, and it looks bang on too. I can see those popping up on the EE now, 'The Canadian-Legal Dragunov SVD', and getting snapped up as fast as they're put on, especially for being non-restricted.

Here is a pis to show the rubber part of the scope:

I hope he swings by and few of us commented about this thread on his youtube page.

The overall presentation was well done. The gun conversion is fantastic to say the least, but, putting it together in a way to grab your attention and drop your jaw, priceless....

Thanks for the comments lads! I bought a Russian PO 6x36mm scope from westrifle.ca ... thats the scope you see on the gun. By design they come with a 3" (roughly ) rubber boot that mounts at the end of the eyepiece, Its intended that you place it against your eye socket when aiming, this completely eliminates surrounding light from entering around the eye piece. It has a collapsible portion so it doesn't jab your eye every time you fire. VERY comfy to look through.

very nice... tons of elbow grease involved in a project like this. Always good to see a NR rifle that makes the liberals squirm :)

Hey this one is nice but you should show yours Mr. Incorrigible...
Your Dragunov/SVT clone is really something !
I remember it, even after those years.
Work of art to not say the least !

I'm still looking for SVD parts and buy them when they are affordable.
Its not easy but one day...

Mine isnt a QUARTER OF THE AWESOME THAT YOURS IS !! stumbled across your build a day ago. haha until then I thought I was the only guy to have shaped a SVT similar to an SVD... guess im not alone. I was thinking about adding actual Tiger/Dragunov/PSL parts to mine when I first started the project back in the spring... But I quickly realized how big of a pain in the ass it was to find ANYTHING SVD related for sale, not to mention affordable. And how in the hell would I get the stuff into this country. I was lucky enough to find an authentic PSO style scope like yours IN CANADA , I was grateful for that :) SOooooo I decided to keep a good amount of the SVT 40 look in order to keep things simple, affordable and quick to throw together.

The SVD bipod that is on yours.... is it Russian, or is it a Hong Kong clone, how much did you pay for it??
