I have to tell you that I am really surprised by quality of this 9mm 1911! I just love the clean look without any billboards and stupid warnings. Machining is really good, fit - just amazing. Came only with one 9 rounder, but I had some 10 round Wilson Combat mags. Range test tomorrow :)
I completely stripped it to perform usual "tune up", but really - was nothing to do. Everything is smooth and nice :)

Looks outstanding! Every 1911 in 9mm I've ever shot has been great--smooth, low recoiling, accurate, and reliable. Enjoy your new pistol, it looks like a good one.

Very nice! I have several handguns, but not (Yet) a 1911....I like SIG, but this one is amazing!!! what is the price tag for the SAM? Let us know your review after shooting it!

I went for the SS commander version for the puny 9mm lol, this is my second SAM....great guns for the $$. Replaced my Norks with these and they are 10x the pistol for not much more $$.

I have the SAM 1911 9mm with the short slide & barrel. Really enjoy the overall feeling of it and for just a bit more money than a Norc, the difference is quality is worth it. There are better 1911 framed pistol out there for sure, but for the price SAM is hard to beat. Their line-up of pistol is really interesting too!

Well, i was at the range yesterday and glad to report that it shoots as good as it looks. There is only a 25 meters pistol range at my outdoor range, after 5 mags there was a pretty round whole in the middle :) 3 type of ammo was used - 146 grin Winchester X Super, Winchester White Box and Barnaul 115 grain steel cased ammo. My primary concern was a Barnaul due the hard primers and FTF in my Glock and Beretta. No problems in this 1911 :) That was important since I am planning to drop a 7.62x25 barrel in it. I will give this gun 10 out of 10. For that price it's an amazing combination of quality and readability. Taking it to the indoor range today.

Nice looking pistol. Love the grips you put on it.

I may need to buy one of these (in .45ACP for me).

Why did you choose the 9x19? Ammo costs?

I already have 1911 in 45 :) Plus, I am planning to get a Tokareva barrel for it that only works with 9mm 1911 frame. And I just love how controllable 9mm in 1911 are :)

could we see the machining of the internal on any of these? I am curious as how much detail go into the internals, specially the inside of the slide.

I can count the tool marks on the 2 of mine on one hand....very well finished guns. Nothing like a Norinco....mine even had the bow-tie cut on the frame lug so they know 1911's pretty well.

Have you tried a 9mm commander and full size both? Has the commander a better feel to it? I've the omega and to me 9mm just feels...off in a 1911. Slower weaker recoil impulse maybe. My 45 has been out of commission for months and when I finally shot it the other day it was like falling in love again.

I'd hate to sell the omega and take a bath on it, all the same
