I would prefer a more conventional colour but I ended up trying this. I tried to scufff it up abit before using poly to make it looks work and old to help get rid of some of the toy look. I really Don't know how I feel about this yet. Its blue stain, not paint. Maybe ill leave it with my dad to repaint with red stain is he is board.

Ok We need a Bubba section on this forum.. where the Bubbaers can hang and exchange ideas… it's only fair that they are not discriminated against.

I am looking for discrimination at this point lol, I do NOT like how it turned out. This has become my quick range trip gun, Something I can clean quickly and take out all winter in cold nasty wet weather were I would not want to take out my SKS and STV with matching numbers. I will be doing some bolt polishing and a home-made bent bolt to practice tinkering in the mean time on the mosin.

Anyone know where I can find a good shape mosin while on the topic of mosins? I have had no damn luck so far with em.

Mosins can be refinished. The problem is the wood must be prepped. You must remove the cosmoline or the stain will not penetrate the wood and the result is what you have streaky with no grain showing. It is difficult to do, which is why most paint them. These were done in black.

The laminated stock refinish looks kinda neat,I really like that one.
