How many times have you shot that thing. I owned one and its a fire breathing dragon for sure, but I had to replace the firing pin spring twice! First when it was new after ten rounds, I send it to murray Charlton for fixing, then again after that with only 20 rounds. After that I figured id had a lemon and sold it.
Finally took some time to get some pics of my S&W collection. My N Frames, a 27-2 nickel, 27-2, 28-2, 29-2, and 57 (no dash)

The front sight is wrong too, somebody put a fibre optic on it prior to the gent I bought it from. I am on the hunt for proper front sight and grips, but even at that a 27-2 nickel with 5" barrel is a rare bird. It sucks that somebody buggered around with it, but I do have original presentation box and papers. Grips and front sight shouldn't be too difficult, and it is worth the effort. I couldn't pass on it because of the barrel length.
Now, if I could just find a really decent 25-2 or -3....dammit! I missed one by a couple minutes last week, looked beauty. One of these days....as the Pink Floyd song says.
I decided to take the cowboy trail. I've wanted a SAA Colt for as long as I can remember.
Now, after years of military experience and collecting guns of WWII onwards, I finally found
this RUGER NEW VAQUERO in Stainless Steel. Such a beautiful revolver! I opted for the .357
version because it shoots .38 Spl equally well, but it easier to find than .45 LC here, and cheaper
than the .357. But the magnum cartridge punches above its weight if I ever need that kind of energy.

A .44 Magnum with very little recoil?? I'd be interested in that.
Too bad about the Chiappa, tho...next time try a Ruger 'New Vaquero'!
