Just curious to know.. this pistol sells for less then the original 75b, and claims to be better trigger, yet it does not sell well either… so whats the issue.I want to get another 75b yet I do not want to spend the extra dough, as I am not going into competition.. just plinking and fun-ness.

Get the 85 Combat. You will eventually end up with one anyway.

Pre-B 75's are worth looking at.

I also wondered about the Omega prices being lower. BTW I love my Combat.

The new out of the box Omega I got to try was sure not as nice as the regular 75b trigger. FAR from it in fact. And it stayed pretty gritty and rough feeling for some time. But then when I got to shoot the same gun after it had been run through it's paces to the tune of something like 10K rounds it was smooth as warm butter. This particular gun was one of the rental guns at the local rent-a-gun range.

I don't think the Omega trigger is advertised as being "better" in the sense of being smoother/crisper/lighter etc but rather as being less complex......perhaps cheaper to build?....maybe more durable and robust?

Less parts cheaper to make a good friend showed me the internals next to a B.
No comparison, I was shocked to see CZ do this to there excellent line of pistols.

Omega has the same trigger as the P-07 Duty pistol. It has a longer, smoother travel in SA, and the DA is better. IMO the regular CZ 75 B has a better trigger.

If I recall correctly, the Omega trigger system was developed for a military contract. It may have been for Mexico but I am not certain.

It's not the trigger that is the issue. It's the action group that is located back at the rear of the lower frame. And it isn't just a drop in unit. The pivot pins for the parts and safety all pass through the frame which provides the mounting points. So I'd suggest that you buy one or the other.

Looking at just a few of the results for "omega trigger job" did not look promising. And given the information I found my first reaction is to strongly suggest that you just pay the few extra bucks to get a standard CZ instead of an Omega version. In the end it'll cause a lot less grief and give you the somewhat famed CZ feel that you're hoping to get.

Besides, unless you're planning on flipping the gun in a year or two the added cost will amount to peanuts over the lifespan of your ownership.

I think I will spend the extra $$$ and get the SP01-Shadow... I do like the basic/combat sights & looks of the 75.. but I am sure from what I have read I will enjoy the shadow.

Then just get a 75b with the regular "classic" action group or consider the 85 Combat as suggested by gnmontey and others.

The Shadow is amazing but when compared side by side and hefted one after the other the lighter fore end of the 75 and others with the same cut aways to the slide and frame certainly do balance in the hand more nicely. On the other hand the reason the Shadow is so popular with rapid action shooting is that this same front end mass controls recoil so much more nicely and aids in faster sight picture restoration and the ability to perform a faster string of decently aimed shots.

But then I switch easily back and forth between my Shadow and pre-B model 75 easily enough. I think with more training I COULD shoot the Shadow faster and maintain accuracy. But for the frequency I shoot one is as good as the other. Yep, they really are that close.

Ended up getting the Shadow at a good price from Reliable .. Love the beaver tail on this over the standard 75b .. and the sights should be quicker to acquire. This is Joes shadow, Love the grips.
