He can't afford a FTU either.

FELLA'S... let's stick with the facts about the firearms please. If you start insulting another member with respect to their financial position and what they can, or cannot afford .. that is low and you should be banned from this site. On the same note I don't agree with bullying on the playground either...................

That was a joke about Daniel's previous posts on another thread regarding his dislike of the FTU on a T97. Not meant to be personal.

I have the T97 with FTU and I just ordered a Tavor which should arrive this coming week. The T97 has been flawless .. every time I pull the trigger it goes bang... I was always curious about whether the Tavor was worth the extra $$... so I decided to order one to find out... I have nothing against the T97 and I will post a thread with an accurate comparison once I receive the Tavor and have had time to shoot it and acquire a proper opinion on it.

A lot of people commenting on this thread have owned both rifles at the same time too, namely me.

Im not into bulling, but going full ignorant retard and trolling every thread that has anything to do with Tavors gets old. Tonight was to much. The 30 round mag dump and operator comments were proof.

And that may be the big difference... maybe most of the T97 'siders' prefer them because they have NEVER had both to compare... and maybe most Tavor owner's HAVE had both so they CAN compare... I look forward to having both so I can have an bias-free comparison ...

And you will see the light. A T97 with the FTU is serviceable and actually not bad. Without the FTU, not even close to the Tavor!

I have a Tavor and an FS2000 and recently put together a T97 w/FTU for a plinker.

T97 FTU w/ AR332 optic. Darn fine range plinker. The Tavor is better; no ifs and and buts about it.

The T97 great for giving the "real" rifles a rest and it's actually a great shooter; 400 rounds thus far with nary a problem.

Again, it is what it is and will give you pleasure at a range. If you can only afford one however; Tav or FS2000 hands down.

my norinco ar did not have one failure over 1000 rounds.
My keltec fails all the time.

Wow!!! 1000 rounds that must be a new record.
Which keltec do you have that fails all the time? If your talking about an SU-16 or a Sub2000 then what do you expect for the price, if you're talking about an RFB then you either have crappy mags or you don't know how to set up the gas system.
You couldn't give me an SU-16 after the couple days I spent playing with one.
Your M-forgery works because it's a clone of a well designed rifle, problem is that just like everything else that comes from Norinco there is no QC and while your's may run fine the next one off the line may be so out of spec it won't even chamber a round.
When you buy Norinco you roll the dice, there is no warranty and no parts support. When these T97's start to break they are garbage and can only be stripped for parts, problem is that when they start breaking it will probably be the same part on all of them so the rest of the rifle will be useless.

Buy them if you want but all the T97 fanboys will be singing a different tune when something breaks and they can't get parts to get it running again.
Let us know how they're working after 5000+ rounds.

I'm no Tavor fanboy either, I've shot a few of them and was not impressed. Well, not impressed enough to buy one anyway.
I do think the Tavor is a much better design and is much better quality but for $2500 it should be.
Unless you feel that you need to have a bullpup I think there are better rifles available to us.
