Is it legal to hunt crows with a shotgun that holds more than 3 shots ?

They do not fall under migratory game birds, they are pests. In Ontario it's 3 rounds in a shotgun regardless of what you are hunting, I have no idea about Saskatchewan, check your Provincial regs.

Check the Migratory Birds Convention Act.
My searching through the various segments there was a listing for the Provinces in the following site:

https://www.ec.gc.ca/nature/default.asp?lang=En&n=496E2702-1

In BC the following are not protected:

(a) species of the genus Corvus — crows;

(b) Pica pica — black-billed magpie;

(c) Molothrus ater — brown-headed cowbird;

plus English Sparrow, European Starling and Rock Dove (common pigeon but not racing pigeons).

The 3 shot rule should be in the MBAct

Your not going to get more than two shots off at a Crow or even a Murder of Crows for that matter cause once the shooting starts they are going to be heading out of Dodge.
At least that has been my experience when shooting at a few targets of opportunity.
Just go and blast at them and have fun, take a few pics and post them and your Golden.

Is pest control considered hunting? In NS you can get a permit to discharge on your own property for nuissance animals. Crows could fall in this category. Doubt your shotty would need to be violated for that use

Crows are covered in the actual regulations as "not regulated". Much like coyotes, except crows aren't mentioned in the Sask hunting guide. But again, crows are migratory, none around this time o year.

Also, those big black birds hanging around right now are not crows. They are ravens and both illegal an unnecessary to shoot.

In most areas of BC, they (Ravens) can be shot on private property, there is often a season and a bag limit in effect (depends on where you are in BC).

I use a .22 or a 12 ga for crows here in PEI. There are more crows than people, but I'm working on it. The 3 shot regulation should not apply or even be a concern because you will never get more than 3 shots at them. -And they learn fast! I use decoys, a blind and an electronic call to entice them into range but believe me when I say they are not easily fooled.

Thanks guys just wanted to have some fun . The sask regs reads your shotgun has to be plugged during a open game bird season after that load up

Just remember to replug after you are done. Did that once and forgot to put it back in when I left for out west for a goose hunt and had to do some quick scrambling to find one
Now I leave it in and take my time and actually kill more crows with three shots
Few decoys and a garbage bag stuffed with old plastic pop bottles and a few calls. Get ready ;)
