Wholesale-sports SKS & SVT-40's BOXING DAY Sale prices are really good

I picked up a nice matching numbers 1950 SKS, looks all original except it has a blued bayonet. Spring loaded firing pin, non chrome barrel. Not to shabby for $159 bucks.

Just picked up a couple decent '41's in Wpg as well. Had to get a SKS too, while I was there. Salesman told me that someone got an undated non reciever star Tula just before I got there. Whoever got it, I want my gun back ;)

I just picked up one marked like this in Saskatoon, with a black bayonet and absolutely pristine crown and bore - it honestly looks like it's never been fired. Is there something special about the ones with no date or arsenal stamp on the top of the receiver and a star on the side? The staff said they had about four crates still in the back and they were all marked in exactly the same way.

They aren't rare, but thats what referred to as the letter series. You gotta have at least three of those in a collection ;) The one I was refferring to has the tula star on top but no date............but without seeing it, who knows..........coulda been anything. As far as misc parts? Not really. These Ukrainian import SKSs are pretty amazing. Ya, the gas piston, bayo and sometimes stock are replaced, but they're about as original as any milsurp ever

Winnipeg I got there and they had 2 in the back left and I asked to see one and they told me that the guy next to me bought them all and have a nice day

The website shows SVT 40s in all locations and SKS's in almost all locations including Wpg...........I'm guessing the site is not accurate?

Don't forget "unissued, as issued, unfired" ;)

Will there be any nice Cherry Stock arctic birch sks coming in? I would rather pay a premium than buy a black bayo one as the crowns on the muzzles on the twenty plus I looked at where horrible.

I was in the Wpg store today and was told that the whole crate was '54 black bayo models. They were very nice, but I've got too many of those. They were sanded cherry stocks, nice but not nice enough for me to pick up any more. Edit.........and yes the crowns are very rough.
