OP, don't feel to bad. I did the same thing. Not as bad as you though. Lol. I put a tiny nick in the rod, lucky the rod was all the way back when I did it. Still works just fine, but it pisses me off that its no longer "perfect". Sad thing is, this wasent the first time I took it apart. Probably like the 5th or 6th, I knew all about how to take it apart, but for some reason it slipped my mind.
Chalk it up to a lesson learned. You'll be OK
