My first AR builds, almost done.

Just need to get out and zero everything but test fired last week.
 
The problem with building an AR is that there are too many choices so I built another and now want to start a third.




Well this was the second one which I am deciding on an optic for.

Upper - AERO M4E w/15" MLOK handguard (Tungsten)
14.5 AERO barrel
Dlask XB3 flash hider
Raptor charging handle
Magpul MBUS Pro sights
(Awaiting optic choice)

Lower - AERO
AERO lower parts kit
magpul UBR
Magpul MOE+ grip
phase 5 bolt lever
Norgon Ambi mag release
jP silent buffer

I am sure there is something I have forgotten but here is what I remember.

I have to thank Saskatoon Gunworks as 90% of everything was sourced through them and they are great to deal with. I would recommend them to anyone, and they are a CGN sponsor as well. It is nice to be able to walk in and see what you want and leave with it. An experience I have not had with most other vendors in the past.
 
Very nice and light, while still robust. I chose the MLOK over the keymod for available accessories for the MLOK. The quad rails have QD mounts built in which I will have to add to this one.

They lock up tight with no rattle at all and maintain a continuous rail for optics. Very nice actually.

Not able to change much with the Adcor upper, I did order the new handguard for it which is longer and keymod. They use a proprietary piston/handguard to go with the forward charging lever. I will be happy to eliminate the quad rail though.

Any reccomendations for 14.5 optic? I was contemplating an aimpoint T1 but I think I might order another EOTech XPS.

Why not go magnified 1-4x or 1-6x?

I am still considering the Trijicon 1-4 scope too. I love this optic as it is super clear, no batteries required and very fast target acquisition. I really think this is one I the most under considered optic going and AREO makes the ultra lite mount to match without any clutter.

By the way, that tungsten rifle of yours is absolutely stunning! WOW...

I've been debating on putting together a MK12 stytle rifle with 18" barrel (maybe even a 20") and really wanted to go with the tungsten...I was a bit unsure, nut now after seeing yours, I think I'm decided. That rifle looks great...nice job.
 
OP, so is the left side of your ADCOR upper rifle void of a rail cover or did you modify one? I have a similar one as yours. Also with the same FDE Eotech (no magnifyer). I need to go with rail covers but.. the left side I think I'll just have to leave as is. I was hoping maybe you had a really good looking converted rail cover? I do like that side charger. Especially when prone. very worth losing the cover and space for that charger. Very cool. But even better if there is a good looking and functional way to modify a rail cover for it.

Here's one of mine. I have a black one that's the same. Sorry no pictures yet with the optics. The FDE one I went with the FDE Eotech that looks like yours. The SOCOM version. For the black one I went with a Hi-Lux CRV 1-4x. I'm actually fairly impressed with it. The reviews weren't wrong. In an ADM mount it works and looks good. Not as fancy as many other optics but it's deceptively good.
