Ruger SR1911: worth it?

I have an opportunity to pick up an unfired SR1911 on consignment for $500. What do you think? I wasn't really looking for anything in 45ACP but this seems like a pretty good deal.

At that price, that's a steal. You won't find second hand Ruger SR's at that price.

Yeah, the LGS sold it to this guy a month ago and now they have it on consignment. I handled it this morning and it is like new and unfired. I am so very tempted but I just spent a small fortune on new camera gear so I am a little tapped out at the moment.

Totally worth it at that price. I bought mine when they were still under $700, and it was worth it at that price. I don't think I'd buy one at current prices, just because it's now in the territory of being a small jump to the $1000 price bracket guns

If you don't buy it, it won't last long at that price. I bought my SR1911 for $700 NIB, and I thought I got a smoking deal. My SR45 was just over $500.

I'd have a hard time walking away from a deal like that. If you decide you don't like it, I'm sure you wouldn't have a hard time getting your money out of it. Does consignment mean no taxes too?
