I received a wonderful M1A in the mail today! I was pretty stoked to get it - I got it from Shaman118 (great guy BTW) and she is a beauty. Sorry for the quick and nasty shots but I was in a hurry to take them as the kids only went to sleep 30 mins ago.

Compared to my Norinco 2007 M14, I was amazed at the fit and finish. I am not knocking the Norcs/DA rifles but it is quite clear that they are about mass production not quality.
National Match SS barrel:

Very definitely a medium weight barrel:

Beautiful Flash Hider with National Match front site:

Wonderfully finished rear sight with what appears to be a NM rear peep:

Springfield 10 rd mag pinned to 5 rds:

I removed the gas plug and it the gas ring perfectly lines up a 6 o'clock and doesn't move past the 6 o'clock position on the gas block:

Trigger group is finished and blued nicely:

A properly finished walnut stock:

I have to say that I am very impressed with the Springfield M1A. While some may say that they are overpriced, I really like these rifles. While the Norincos are functional there is something to be said in having a nicely finished rifle. Picked up a Springfield Synthetic Stock, handguard and Flash hider with a bayo lug from Tactical Teacher which will need to be installed with the stock flash hider moving to the Norc. I just have to start working up some handloads to see how this rifle shoots...
