Hi everyone,

Looking at getting a SBR/CQB rifle. Just wondering what you would you use as a minimum amount of attachments, like, say flashlight, red dot, BUS type of deal. What brand of rifles would you use and what brands of attachments? its going to be trained with as much as I can so I am efficient with it for when SHTF.

Thanks

Get yourself a colt or a DD with a few mods like a trigger , ambi controls. As for optics you need to decide is its CQB or service rifle you are going to shoot

ok here is my try at this and what i use...Daniel defense m4v5,ssa-e trigger,ta02 acog,troy m4 buis,inforce wml light,norgon ambi mag release,bad ass ambi safety,magpul str stock,magpul moe grip,magpul curved trigger guard..DONE! around $3k

A decent 14.5-16" carbine, an Aimpoint and a sling.

Then take a carbine course, see what others including the instructor are using and try to get some hands on and advice to decide what you like/need in the way of extras.

i like to run my fun gun like this. light on the top rail keeping it slim and minimal. 2 point sling set up like this, rear attachment point on the out side of rear stock, front attatchment on the inside of forend, so the gun falls in front of me without swing when i switch to pistol and still get slack when i switch to off hand with the rifle. .

gun had a noveske NSR before so it was super light weight and minimalistic , plus the rail was comfortable enough i ddint have to run any grip, i dont even like vert grip but im just throwing one on now to see how the rifle handles with it. since i got less leverage the gun going from 11"-9.5" rail.

This is what i'd use. My PWS MK116 MOD1
Running an EOTech EXPS 3-0, G33 Magnifier, Surefire M600 Ultra Scout with SR-05 dual switch, magpul MBUS PRO sights and a ZeroBravo handstop.
Im still not too sure if the EOTech G33 Magnifier is worth the extra weight.. or how useful it really is..

Get something non restricted..... that way you can use it outside in the real world were it actually matters and learn it well. The only thing you'll learn from an AR in Canada is how to pamper it, slap useless #### all over it and firing it in a cozy indoor 50yrd shooting range.

Daniel Defense MK18 (10.3") or M4A1 (14.5"), Aimpoint/Elcan 1-4, BUIS(Troy,Magpul PRO,Samson) , Geissele trigger, BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle, Good Sling(Vickers, VTac, Ares Armor), Surefire/Inforce light. If you still feel like accessorizing go for a pistol grip and stock that you likeand fore grip if that's your thing, and some ambi controls (BAD lever and ambi safety slelector).

Over budget.

Yup all of it would be, but the threads title is what would you use, this is what I would/do use and trust. It's not all necessary and not in order of importance, just a list of stuff I'd recommend if asked.

For under 3000$, I'd get one of cheaper Daniel Defenses $1500-1700(not sure if Wolverine still has any on sale) Aimpoint PRO $500, Sling $60-100 (Magpul MS4 on the cheaper end, Vickers on the higher end), BUIS 200-250, and an inforce WML $150 with a Haley Strategic mount another $100.
