NS522 mags/Pics of Single Shot adapter

Unless you are in the US military.... :) It's still inches and feet where I work in Canada even though I was one of the first generations to learn metric in school.....The influence of the US's stubborn refusal to change is felt in North America.
Minimouse, any chance you can post the dimensions that are cropped out of the photo?
The only measurements I left out of the description in my original post were two that are best illustrated in the third picture in that post. The height of the magazine adapter from the bottom to the very top of those two points is 1 3/4 inches. Disregarding those two points (measuring as if they were not there), the height of the adapter from bottom to top (again, disregarding the two points) is 1 11/16 inch (this is one of the two measurements left out of the original post). The width of the groove itself, measured from outside-to-outside, is 11/32 inch (this is the second of the two measurements left out). Hope this helps!

If anyone else is interested in some good pictures of the NS522 single shot adapter, go to RimfireCentral, and scroll down to the "Misc--Other Rimfire Rifle Brands" sub-forum, click on that, then look for a thread entitled, "Chinese Em332--like NS522". Guy by the username "Macc" has posted some great pictures of the adapter on page 3 of that thread.

I have a similar adapter for my Kimber SVT 22LR. It fits into the mag and allows for only one shot. It' s made out of the white polymer from a cutting board. Can pick them up probably cheap either on sale, or in a thrift shop. It seems to make a perfect material for a single shot adapter.

When my NS522 gets here I may go that route for a single shot adapter.

Funny, I was thinking doing the same thing. :)
Actually, I've already bought a cutting board but I haven't started the project because I just found another cutting board that's black (no need to paint). So, I'll make an adapter when the second board arrives.

Good stuff.

Something to consider: The advantage with the white one is that you instantly know which mag is your single shot adapter. With the black you might have to actually check before hitting the range or might grab the single shot adapter mag when you want a regular mag.

I just made a single shot adapter from high-density polyethylene block.
It took me less than 30 minutes from start to finish to make the adapter. I used a belt sander with 100 grit paper and I used a few small files (round, flat and triangle shape) to make the slots.
I might use a fine grit sand paper to polish it but it works great.
I bought a handful of these blocks to save on cutting fee, so I listed them on the EE. Let me know if anyone is interested.

So im wondering has anyone thought of trying to modify the magwell to accomodate a different mag...the other thought Ive had is grafting a larger mag to the 522 mag to increase the capacity..I realize that the mags are rarer than rocking horse sh^t but Im thinking of scrapping one in the name of progress..any one have any ideas?

I rather like the idea of the s/s adapter over increased capacity. Single loading the round into the chamber eliminates the possibility of shaving the bullet nose during feeding, thus enhancing accuracy. In my experience, the magazines that come with the rifle do not feed very well, and I have come to use the s/s adapter in mine most of the time.
