M&P Upgrades

I just bought the Apex FSS trigger kit, but with the polymer trigger, I didn't want to spend an extra $100 on the aluminum trigger. Having it installed next week, will let you know how it feels after :) The stock trigger is just horrible...

edit: for those who got the FSS kit, which spring did you install? The 4 lb, 5.5lb or leave the stock spring?

If you're comfortable with tools, you increase the "smoothness" a little with a little work.

Here is my video on the trigger job :

That being said, I just received my APEX forward set Alum trigger a few days ago. I'll be doing another video detailing the install, and the promised decrease in "creep" and take-up with this new trigger. I'll also compare the pull weights.

Where are you getting it installed? I'm all thumbs with tools and really don't want to loose the small parts.

We all have different ideas. I have an Aluminum Apex trigger on my 40PRO. Works ok but I have to say I prefer the standard trigger. For one thing I had shingles in my shooting hand which has left my finger tips very sensitive to cold weather. Shooting the APpex trigger with the Glock style safety is painful, the original trigger for me is so much better. You may feel the difference when pulling the trigger at home but when shooting just the Duty or Competition Kit would be the way I would go. I never notice the trigger when shooting matches except when I shoot the 40 cal without a glove on.

Take Care

Well...I got the Apex FSS trigger installed and tried it out today, shoots like a dream. Now I like it more than my P226. Only problem, it was having trigger reset issues. On about 5 occasions, the trigger did not reset and thus did not fire after without having to manually rack the pistol. Even the RO tried it and had issues, back to the gunsmith it goes!

Ya, I had the dead trigger syndrome with mine after installing the FSS as well. Tweaked the candy cane thingy too much. Back it off a smidge.

No need for a smith to be involved.

Installed the Apex FSS competition kit with the aluminum trigger. Made it into a new gun. Got rid of the creep and gritty trigger and lighten the trigger pull. It is a joy to shoot now. Highly recommended.

Has anybody noticed their takedown lever is really loose after installing this kit? I was cleaning my MP9, and after taking off the slide, the takedown lever is so loose that it falls right out of the frame. It seems to stay in place once it's back up in lock position though. I never noticed this before installing the kit. In my P226, the lever stays in place even after removing the slide.
