Sellers Remorse

20 years ago I had a matching set of Mausers built, 7 X 57 and 9.3 X 62 a few years later starting into a new business I needed some cash and sold the 9.3 ..... Sold it to an acquaintance with understanding that when I had the cash I would buy it back. Well sadly he passed away and before I knew it his widow sold everything off and I have no idea where that rifle ended up but I would pay anything to get it back.

Without a doubt, my father's Browning Bar in 30-06. Don't really have much use for semi-auto rifles, but my Dad loved the gun. Sold it to get the legal fees to purchase our first home.

What Rifle do you regret selling the most?.

Not the one that got away, or the one you should have bought......
The one you had to sell to buy your first house / get you through the lean times, or the one that was passed down and you foolishly sold.

It's a tough pick for me,
But I think it would have to be my unmolested M700 classic in 35 Whelen. 1/2 moa out to 300y.

I'm already missing the Ruger No. 1 I let go to a fella in Manitoba. Sigh...

my newly restored Fabrique Nationale SAFN-49.

argh...it still bites. I hope Fenceline is enjoying it.

Ouch!!! For my part it's a Sako M78 in .22K-Hornet.

I sold a 243 Rem 700 VLS to my uncle.

I had developed hand-loads for it this thing shot like i swear to god hole in holes at 200 Meters( i picked off shell casings at 200 m with it for fun) but I decided that I wanted to sell it because it was unwieldy and i haven't been target shooting much at the time and i wanted to hunt with it "silly thinking looking back".

A year later i was back into shooting as hard as ever lol. maybe more.
So far haven't got it back but i told him if he wants to get rid of it I will buy it back at same price i sold it.

But yes i regret selling that rifle.

My 1971 M-70 in 30-06, should have kept it just because it was my first moose rifle and we spent a lot of years together and had many adventures. Don't miss the white line spacers though.

Only a few I sort of wish I still had, except for the fact that I traded up, so.......

Philip Webley 12 bore BLE, SG, DT;
W. J. Jeffery .275 N.E. & W.J. Jeffery .318 N.E., a nickel serial # apart;
composed pair of Joseph Lang 12 bore SLE;
sequential pair of Browning Pointer Grade 12 bores
Ruger #1 .375 H&H engraved & French Greyed
Ruger #1 .500 N.E. 3"
AYA #1 12 bore SLE
Bozard 12 bore SLE
W.J. Jeffery Martini Enfield .303

The others I no longer think about.

All long before digital cameras, but I do still have the 35 mm prints to look at.

All of them, some more than others.
Marlin 782-22 magnum (Extremely accurate)
Mossberg 1500, 338 Win Mag (Wanted a 375H&H)
Winchester 670, 25-06 (Needed the money)
Winchester 94BB, top eject-375 Win. (Needed the money)
Winchester 94, 25-35, 1907 Mf Date (Wasn't using it)
Remington SPS/DM first edition 300 Win Mag. (My best friend wanted it enough for me to let it go)
2-Remington 742-30-06. (Belly button guns)
Baikal 12 gauge single. (Given to my oldest)
Winchester model 62A 22 S/L/LR (I inherited and passed on to my oldest)
3-SMLE Mk IV 303 British (Two were given away, they were common and cheap at the time)
Stevens 410 bolt action. (Traded to my son for 10-22 take-down)
Argentinian Mauser 30-06 (Neighbor needed a hunting gun)
2-Cooey single shot 22LR (Again, cheap and common)
Cooey repeater 22LR (Neighbor needed a 22)

But the worst was a pre-64 model 94, 30-30 (Traded for previous 25-35 to Step Dad, he used it once, sad ending)
I tend to hang on to things now, they aren't costing me anything, so why not?

Bought a 2012 FN Winchester M70 Alaskan in .375 H&H from Epps. Never fired it. Sold it NIB a year later to a good Gunnut for what I paid. I've regretted it ever since.

Thanks for selling that .375 to me...she's a beauty and I know you were on the fence about selling it. I understand why you'd miss that one. If I ever decide to part with it I'll contact you first!

The only one I regret selling was an older tang safety Ruger M77 Varmint HB .308. That thing shot crazy great all the time, but I fell in love with something more "tactical" in .308 and let the Ruger go...should have kept it.

I had a Ruger 77 Ultralight .22-250 that put 5 shots into a quarter inch group at 200yds with spooky regularity. I sold it to a person that does not deserve it because I was broke and needed cash.
