Negative on that one BR.........many non residents own property in B.C...................It'll all work out in the wash, I jump through the hoops and get'er done...........Just venting a little.........

i think i have two hunter education certificates from Canada juridiction but im still happy to have my name in the book in yukon to get my next license in Yukon with no hassle ...

I thought that those born before Noah's flood were "grandfathered"... you should be good to go Doug...
 
When I moved to BC in 2001 they accepted my license from the NWT as sufficient and I did not have to do CORE. Now when I moved to NS I had to take an online course, then take a test at the COs office. Plus there is a separate course for Archery and an separate course for crossbow hunting. Of course, they all come with their own fee attached. Whoever said that BC stood for "Bring Cash" (not necessarily you FLHTCUI) never moved to the Maritimes!

This province is stupid.

Well how else are they going to generate income? Not from taxes -- its instructive to remember that as of 2014 the total population of the 4 maritime provinces together is just LESS than HALF of the population of GTA alone. This is not "bragging" btw -- it is a lament!
 
Just another chance for the Pinko Commie phuks down in Victoria to hoover up more $$$ and phuk around with and intervene in a persons life. Maybe by the time you're done jumping hoops Crusty Clark and her outfitter buddies will decide that since you're a resident now, you shall only hunt small game anymore. It's a messed up place

Phone Rev Canada and check. AFAIK, the location of your full time residence as of Dec 31 of he filing year, is where you pays your taxes. Where you work, don't count for squat unless you live there full time. This based upon my experiences migrating from Province to Province while in the Military.

So...That would make your Drivers Lic. invalid, likely your insurance, which is likely tied to residency requirements, and hunting lic. too. About the only break on that I know of is Alberta, which allows serving Military and RCMP, that have their Electoral District still in Alberta, to maintain resident status while posted elsewhere.

I'd do some looking into it, were I you.

I'm late, haven't read the thread after this post either, but this one certainly caught my eye. No, he isn't doig anything wrong, and many of us live the same life. I've been essentially a dual resident for the better part of a decade, owning properties in two provinces and living and working respectively on different sides of the borders. The government, tax laws, or hunting regs can't force an individual to change his job because it makes their paperwork interesting. I'm a helicopter pilot and moving about represents the biggest part of my vocation, it is mighty frutrating when you run into the mentality that can't comphrehend many people do not spend the vast majority of their time in one place. That would be a depressing life for some of us with the gypsy bug.

They don't give a "sxxt" where you live ... they just want to know whose B###H you are!!! And if you cant decide -- you better be ready and willing to "put out' big time! because your sorry ass belongs to both jurisdictions - and you will pay both.

you own property in BC? bring the tax assessment, 6 months worth of hydro bills? get a BC ID?
 
The sad fact is that you can't have it both ways, resident of Yukon for tax purposes but resident of BC for hunting purposes. One jurisdiction or the other will get their pound of flesh! I own property in BC, spend a few months there, but "reside" in Saskatchewan. No easy way to change that for the purpose of getting a BC resident hunting licence.
