Alright so the wife tells me last night that I need to get another .45 but maybe one other then a 1911. So at a bbq on Friday she buys a gently used P220 off a neighbor. (100 rounds down the spout). So now I own a sig. Gonna do the research but is there anything I need to know about these guns?

How about the "other" 45...45 Colt lots of revolvers out there chambered for this round and something different than the 1911.

.45 acp is supposed to be 1911. Adding another 1911 to your collection means you don't have to get a bunch of different mags, etc. But, if that just won't do it for ya, then try any of the new ones out there. I would be tempted to give the FN one a try if I was to stray from the 1911 platform.

P220 for sure. The best of the P22X series IMO. all the 220 variants are nice but the 5" match elite model is particularly sweet.

Pistol in .45ACP other than 1911???

Mind you a CZ might be interesting.

I had a G41 and just found it to simply be too chunky. If you guys are used to the 1911, and like the 1911 I would seriously consider getting range time with a Glock, or at least holding one for a bit before buying one, as they are very much NOT like a 1911.

I vote for revolver too - also not like 1911, but so different that they're neat. Single actions tend to be smaller than the big N Frame Smiths. I don't have a 45ACP revolver - just single and double action 45 Colts.

But, hey, what is the 45Auto but, literally, 45Colt wrapped up in an automatic-friendly package ;)
