hi all, doing some research on an upgrade from my singlestage & am leaning to the SDB as i only load for 1 calibre, i've checked m gardner but was wondering if anyones ordered from dillon directly? if so, any hassells? worth it or better off buying within Canada? advise? TIA

Yes I do (did) it all the time. Fast service and whilethe dollar was high it was much better pricing than most retilers in Canada. Now I' m thinking probably not so much give the plunge in our currency.

you can go to the dillon website and pick your items, then click on link for shipping quote... they get back to you in a few days with your shipping cost.. I did this last week for some small parts, and they only gave me the option of FED EX, which is strange because they shipped my xl650 and accs via USPS in two boxes..

based on my quote from x-reload, the prices are the same as here or better once adjusted to CAN funds.. And the shipping from Dillon to ONT was the same as x-reload shipping from Quebec!

I am just going to order right from Dillon... I will gamble on the duties (seems to be hit or miss with those... wth?)

Gardner didn't even return my email... pffft! and his website will give you seizures :)

when buying from the us try and get usps shipping as I here a lot of people get hit with high brokerage fees when shipping is through the fedex's and ups type couriers

Bought a 550 directly from them 25 years ago and a 1050 3 years ago. Same great service.

The best company to deal with, amazing over the phone Tech support and free replacement of parts. Have bought a 650 and a 150 plus half a dozen other orders with quick changes and such
Just call them and see

If your order is shipped by Fedex or UPS there is a very good chance you will get hit with high brokerage fees. Try to use USPS when shipping.

I bought a 650 and shipped it to Niagara Falls. I use CBI USA, they have a warehouse. I actually ship lot's of stuff there. Shipping cost me $25 vs. the $200 to Canada.

Go here >> http://www.usaddressinc.com/ and register as a non-renter. Have Dillon ship to this address, drive over yourself & pick it up. $22 shipping from Dillon to Niagara Falls NY.

do yourself a favour say away from the sbd. go with the rl550b. i know you said you only reload one caliber but you can upgrade later on with the rl550 where you can't do to much with the rbd. i am happy i went with the rl550b. you won't regret it other then not going to the 650. but i've ordered direct. they're good.

Something I learned from a taxidermist I know. When Ordering from the US, make several small orders instead of one big one. The small orders (less than $100) or there about will slip through customs fairly easy but a large amount is more likely to get charged the taxes.

I've dome this and had better luck avoiding the tax at the post office.
