For the interested, the pre-release magnetospeed sporter version is ready for sale on their web site. They are offering a 40$ rebate after filling out a feedback survey. I just bought one for 189$ (149$ after the rebate). The only drawback: I never received the info on how to complete the feedback survey after checking out the order...I assume it will be in the box...

Depends which model you go for, looks like the $50 rebate is with the XFR unit included.

I see the bayo sensor looks cheaper made compared to the V3 though, I wonder how it would handle magnum calibers with a brake. Price and features look good.

In spec it says it'll work for muzzle device upto 2.7". Does anybody know if thats ported are or complete? I have one muzzle brake that is 2.95" total, do you think it'll work?

I don't know...send them a email, they have an excellent service, quick reply to any question.
Monday morning, they send me an email to tell me that my order is already shipped and also for the rebate: the web adress is on a slip of paper in the box to keep people from being tempted to fill out the feedback survey before they even get the product...

I finally recieved my magnetospeed sporter last week and made some range test last week end and... I'm very impressed with that piece of equipment.
Easy to use and install, no fooling around with too much or not enough sunlight, with those metal rods and the tripod positionning... No errors even at -20. Very solid and secure. The chronograph has not moved, even after thirty bullets fired!
Only downsides are the custom fees (46$ with USPS) and the POI. It changed about +- 1 1/2 feet up but did not affect the grouping.
In the end, very happy with my purchase. The 40$ pre-release rebate (that I'm still waiting for) is not available anymore.
Here some pics

Cheers

I tried to ask the company if this would hold up to a .338lm with brake and had no reply back. After receiving yours is the bayo that strong that it won't start to twist/bend? I'm actually worried it might shatter from just looking at the pics.

No doubt it could handle well something like a 300wm with brake but a 338lm, hummmm...I don't know...
If you have the reply from magnetospeed, I would be curious to know the answer.

If you actually read the Q&A on their site, the question is answered in there;

The MagnetoSpeed can be used with various muzzle brakes and flash suppressors provided that the muzzle gasses are not diverted directly into the V-block, muzzle strap, or blast beam (arched portion). That being said, the blast beam was designed to handle the muzzle-blasts of most common shoulder-fire rifles, shotguns, and handguns. If your muzzle brake or flash hider is long you may consider the V2 model which has an extra inch of clearance for these devices. Our 1:1 scale print outs are a good way for you to be able to print out a scale outline and hold it up to your firearm to see if it will work.

Bummer about the customs fees; however, you can be glad you didn't go UPS as you would have had another $40 brokerage fee on top of the duty... UPS=Bastards.

Question: what distance were you shooting to observe the 1.5 feet POI shift - I'm assuming you were shooting at least a few hundred yards?

ShooNew

Good question, nope it was at 50y (I knew the POI was going to move). I did other tests with my tikkas (30-06 & .223) instead of a winchester mod 70 2 days ago and it was less than 3-4inches up...no errors, flawless once again!
