Ordered it yesterday, just delivered today... now that's fast. Solid packing job also. Thanks Tradex. Nice Stock, hopefully shoots as good as it looks. [/IMG]Now need some warm weather to melt the snow!!![]()
I put about 75 rounds through the rifle today.
No failures to fire or extract. The non-adjustable trigger kind of sneaks up on you, though...................pull, pull, pull......bang. Very light and smooth trigger pull.
That being said, it shoots well at 25 meters. With my 57-year old eyes, groups ran from around 7/8 inch to about 2 inches depending on the ammo. Winchester T-22 did really well, Dynapoint did pretty good. Blazer didn't do as well as I expected, Winchester 525 gave some of the larger groups, Winchester M-22 did the poorest. I have more brands of ammo to try next time. With my luck, the ammo that shoots best will be the one that I have the least of.
I was shooting off an adjustable front rest with bunny-ears bag at the back. Fairly breezy today, so that may have affected the groups.
I would shoot 10 rounds through the rifle to "season" the bore, then 5 rounds for group.
I'm happy with the rifle.
I was expecting significantly more but I like what you posted. Glad you're happy with the rifle!
Can you make a thread with LOTS of pictures and a write up? How are the ergonomics? Weight? How heavy was that trigger? Etc. A lot of us are buying, but there's a fairly large information gap out there on the interwebs. Let's get a "For those who bought the S&L" kind of thread going.
Same for the rest of you. Help the community out and make a mega-thread. I'll contribute when I get mine in 1 week.
Trigger is 2 stage, you should be able to take up the first stage slack and feel when the second stage is going to break. You should be able to pause on that second stage and hold until you are ready to fire. 1" at 25m with irons first time out with bulk ammo is impressive.
With aperture sights you line up 3 circles.... Rear sight, front sight, round target. Focus on the front sight and keep everything lined up. You can play with different sized targets, different sized apertures, to get the best target picture for your eyes. I like my target to take up about 90% of the front aperture, the smaller the gap around the target the better for me.
Make sure all your screws are tight too.
