Hey guys, I saw some of this ammo at the local CT, and decided "Hey, it's probably better than my bulk ammo for accuracy!" and picked up a few boxes. I cannot seem to find it anywhere on the Eley site. Can anyone tell me where this ammo slides in on their scale of quality?

I Believe TEAM has now been replaced with EDGE.
In rather general terms, when Eley tests a lot, it is shot from four rifles. If all four like it, it is branded as TENEX ($20 per box). If only three like it . . . MATCH at $15 per box.
After that it became TEAM at $10 per box.
Perhaps it is just as good as the two higher grades and your rifle may shoot it better for less money.
The lot number has three series of numbers. From a box of TEAM . . . 1011-05166-1085
1011 Manufacture Date(OCT 2011)

05166 -
Machine # (05)and 166 is the sequence from that line in that month

1085
Velocity

It is possible that the middle numbers could be 05167 on TENEX and 05165 on MATCH and the velocities differ.

What was your velocity and how much did they charge?
It can be ordered from Target Shooting Products.

When segregating based on rim thickness it might be just as good as the higher priced products . . . Shooting it the other day produced one target that scored 100 - 6X.

If your right on the Team/Edge relabeling you just saved me a lot of grief, for me I think bulk ammo would have shot better at 50 meters then the Team did....I was a bit disappointed with the results. I liked the new box design...........and the blue label was a lot more calming then the black label of the match box........

so what do I try now???

oh, and what machine number should I be paying attention to, I know everyone down south has their favorite machine

I know a guy that is close friends with the sporting goods manager at CT, I really want to nudge him to bring in more match .22 (when anyone can get their damn hands on it)

Least you have a source for it lol. Haven't seen any locally for a while now at least not the higher end stuff.

Anyone from Saskatoon want to make a bulk order lol

once you experience it there is no going back, and if you compete in anything rimfire related it makes difference between laughing at the competition or the competition laughing at you............this is serious ammo for serious rifles, 5 shot groups in the 0.1's at 50 meters is the bar 0.3 at 100 yards/meters is necessary

Like already said, Hirsch precision has most Lapua made .22lr in stock. (SK is made by Lapua). The SK is good but if you want to do a bit better, try the Lapua center X. I get very good results with them in most if not all my precision .222lr rifles.
