Who says you can't find .22 lr rounds? And who says you can't fire .22 lr for less than .10 cents a round? Sometimes living in Saskatchestan pays off!

57.18 tax in for 1000 rounds of Thunderbolt .22 lr = 0.05718 round up to 0.06 cents a round.

I havn't had to pay over $29.00 a box yet, and that was as recent as two weeks ago. Last summer I was buying those Thunderbolts for $19.49 a brick, I should have bought more.

I stocked up on Thunderbolts at LeBarons in Ottawa, a few years ago. $14.99 a brick, or $29.98 a thousand + 13%GST=$34.88
Today at CTC they sell for about 40 bucks a brick.

I bought two boxes of 555 last weekend and won't be buying any more at the price I paid. It's a free market and this consumer isn't going to be paying into the .22 ammo gouge. I'm planning on plinking with my SKSs this summer and stocking up on that instead. At least there's a real bang for my buck(s) :)

Cabela's in S'toon has a few shelves full of their "Collectible" Winchester 500 packs for $50. Be a long time before I spend $20+ on a wooden box. I just got some Federal 525 for $31/brick, factor in our $ being in the gutter and that's not completely unreasonable. NorthPro has bricks of SK for $75-90... and 2350 cases of Winchester for $185...

Well talk about .22lr prices, things are just going insane now, I'm glad I squirreled when I could, look at this crap from Canadian tire, 50 rounds of Remington crap for more than 10$:
