Lots of .22 LR at Cabela's Winnipeg this morning. But it's not cheap.

Winchester 555 box - $44.95 - a few of these left.

Winchester 222 box - can't remember price, a few left.

Wood box packaged Cabela's special - 500 rounds Winchester Super X - $49.95. (Lots of these on the shelf). Nice presentation, but...

So if you're in Winnipeg and desperate, there ya' go.

Cheers!

Thanks for the heads up. But I agree those prices are
Way to high. And seriously who buys that stuff in the wooden box. Maybe they are bringing it in because it has a higher margin.

It was $19.99 maybe 4 years ago if that at walmart.

April 22,2011 our dollar was about $1.05 to 1 US greenback, now it is less than 80 cents. That's a big drop, but still does not amount to more than doubling of prices over that time. About $30 would be expected, given inflation, and deflation of the dollar.

You should try checking small town hardware stores like co-op and home hardware, my small town Home hardware has win 555 packs for $31.00 and fed 525 for $27. The Home Hardware in Brandon has win 222 for $13, win 333 for $17, win 555 for $35 and bucket of bullets for $80. When Jo-brook had a sale back in October, he had cases of Remington golden bullets for $170 or $17 a bulk pack - now it's almost twice as much.

Who buys the stuff in the wooden box? I bought the stuff in the wooden box. Except it was 2 years ago, and it cost $3 more than their bulk box of crappier Winchester ammo. Either way, it was under $30 (at a time when I bought Federal Champion for $28, and felt ripped off). Now it is $50. It shoots well in my Marlin 795 and TT Olympia pistols, but at those prices they can keep it...

i bought the wood box like 1 or 2(I think it was closer to 2) years ago. had a brick of normal ammo inside. and it was the worst ammo I hvae ever bought. pure garbage. I sure hope the quality of them has changed, but i'd doubt it. I try to stay away from winchester .22LR ammo now as a rule. also it was 30-35 bucks then and at that price it was stil la rip off. I still have half of that ammo in the box cause I dislike it so much.

if everything else ruins out... at least i will still have those. :D
