A new Canadian stock maker is on the verge of starting production. His only question is what style of stocks should he make for both TR, F and hunting to get started? Opinions please.

Something similar the Mcmillan A5? I would seriously consider ordering a stock similar to mcmillans Sako Classic or Hunter for my Vanguard S2. Can you provide contact info?

for target ask guys like Ganderite and Maynard probably lots of others here as well. I think Norm B would know a thing or two about F class (and others) - for hunting based on my limited experience I like classic styles but they have to have a comb that will also accomodate use of iron sights (thats me) I have a Steyr Model M Pro I purchased on the site that wears one of your stocks. There is a quality about the rifle that is hard to describe but it seems perfectly "balanced" to me and points well while not being very heavy. It has become my favorite handling rifle for this reason.. I think it is a combination of things .. grip size - forearm dimensions etc etc ... but this one is "just right" ... the only issue I have is that I have difficulty using the iron sights in prone when wearing muffs as ear defenders when at a range - optics mounted .. NO issue... other than that it is great! Often we buy stocks for a hunting rifle based on a 2 dimensional picture and a one dimensional weight. The problem is that a good stock is designed and fitted to a person in three dimensions - the design of the forearm can be great for one size hand and terrible for another...similarly the surface area of the butt and whether that is gained through width or depth can do much to reduce felt recoil . And the absolute weight is no more important than where that weight is distributed for the rifle/shooters build and the purpose.

McEdges are very popular. If you could make a quality stock pre inlet for popular actions in that 20 oz region it would be a huge hit.

Wildcat stocks have potential in this area, but the fact you can't just buy a finished inlet stock is really holding them back. People want a stock they can buy and put on their rifle. Not send back and forth.

Lightweight hunter. Compact forend. Fully finished.

I have ordered my last McM. They dropped the ball on importing, cost, and wait times.

There is a serious market in canada for the like.

A Canadian source for a McMillian A-5 style or the Manner T4 style would be fantastic. MCRS just isnt reliable and the product quality isnt there. I would love to see something in Canada we could purchase instead of having to wait on Manners or McMillian. Your old Tac job from Robertson was excellent. We need that option again!!
