Bubba builds a sturmgewher....god help us all!

When you select a photo from your photobucket album, there is a link button (looks like 2 chain links connected together)
The button is located beside the Facebook and Twitter buttons.
Once you click that there will be a bunch of text boxes full of HTML gibberish. Copy the text from the box labelled: IMG (for forums, boards) and paste the gibberish here. Done :)

Thanks a bunch!. I made up a chunky muzzle nut and a gas block plug on the weekend. Im going to put it in the wood stock and shoot it for a function test....cant wait. Also ordered a set of repo grip panels, and a 30 rnd steel mag.Its a promag. Im planning on cutting of the duckbill. its going to have a proper magwell so it will fit straight in and hopefully drop straight out.

Yes I'm going to move the trigger closer...I think it will look like shyte after going through this extensive of a rebuild if I don't! Im going to do the new trigger connected to the old trigger via a transfer bar, but i can keep it all stashed away under the new sheetmetal parts.

I can't seem to get the pics from my photo bucket to work...I suck at computer stuff...help!!!!

Open Photobucket, click the image in your library you want, on the right hand side are 4 links, the bottom one says "IMG", left click that link and it will copy, go back to your CGN post and right click, and hit paste. The link will automatically imbed the picture.

Good luck with the project looks great so far.

So I tried shooting it,but the modified gas system would not unlock the bolt. So I opened up the port on the barrel from .120 to 3/16 with an endmill. I opened up the gas block holes to 1/4 inch.
I put the works back together and holy crap it worked! My guess is because of the increased volume of the new gas block it needed more gas pressure. I also opened up the one edge of the ejection port as I read in a sticky above. It ejected out the side like a champ no more straight up and over the front ejection.
Next up, trigger group/pistol grip.

What do you figure your plans for that are?

Did you find a Sturmgewehr handguard or make one up? I'm liking this build -- it takes another boring SKS off the street!

Dogfish...the handguard is an airsoft piece that I salvaged from my house fire...its a POS but good for measurements. I will make a flat one on my plasma table then press the ribs in and roll it up in a a die.
