I called around today and I can't find a single bottle of hodgdon clays. Does anyone in Ontario have any that you know of?. I have called lawry shooting sports, hummason, lebaron, al simmons and bass pro. I couldn't find any.

No offense, but I'm guessing you have been on a bit of a hiatus from shooting / reloading for a bit?
The reloading and ammunition problem has been quite discussed over the last year or two.
It's a quest to get what one needs, that's for sure.

Yes I have been out for a while. The last time i bought powder I just went to hummason and picked it up. So , where is all the powder?

Open the google, type in "powder shortage", and get ready for some wild conspiracy theories.

Other factors aside, the plant that they make the clays line in burned and they just got it up and running again. They are also discontinuing it, but maybe they'll make it in Canada instead of Australia. The industry has not exactly been forthcoming. You may see some by the end of the year, but start thinking of what your second-favourite powder is. Everyone is hard up right now.

it seems today one has to be open minded and use what works, not necessarily ones first choice. In the past year i made a list of what is available and spent quite a bit of time going through the load books and online to find what would work. Actually found some good combinations that I probably wouldnt have tried if my regular powder was available. More recently powders like 4350, 3031 and 4895 have been easier to find than the newer types. I was in Whole sale sports the other day and I think they had about 6 lbs in total of various powders. I have bought powder this spring from prairie gun traders http://www.prairieguntraders.ca/Reloading.php

I can't get anything. no bullseye (filthy crap anyhow), no clay dot, nothing to load 45ACP with.

My advise to you . When you do buy , buy at least 10 lbs at a time

This is why the crisis is here to stay for a long time. Instead of the vast majority buying what we need we have bought into the notion that we need to buy 10x what we need just in case...... This not only drives up the prices it creates shortages. Powder companies, ammo companies and arms makers love it.

Cheers!!

No Clays, no clay dot no bullseye. Thanks anyway.
Used to use clays for 9mm, now I shoot Vhitivhouri N320 and N310 - and it's very clean. Hirsch Precision had plenty of Vhit last time I checked.
It's more expensive, but not that much more based on how far it goes and how much better it is than the regular stuff.

I'm one of those who would prefer to load my 12ga 1oz target loads rather than buy them, but I've had to resort to buying them as of late. Not a pound of Red Dot, Green Dot, Titewad or 700-x to be found. 800-x started showing up again but it's too slow for 1oz 12ga. Hopefully the supply issue will resolve itself soon. My last 3/4 lb of Red Dot has been designated for Grouse loads only until supplies can be had.

Picked up a lb of HS6 at cabelas today that I had backordered Jan 5th. Ordered another one, when ever that arrives...then I noticed titegroup is available online so I should get a call to pick up the 2lbs I ordered back in Jan. Good luck and honestly, just buy what you need, for everyone's sake.

I have been looking for RL15 for over a month now. Every shop is out of stock. Two websites that say they sell it, actually don't. Anybody know of a stash? I just need a lb. If there is a sufficient substitute for RL 15 that is in good supply, I'd even think about that. It's for 7x64 Brenneke.

Thx

I'm told that IMR 8208 is a good substitute for RL15.

Go onto the cdn tire website, search ammunition..... They sell a sh!t load of reloading supplies, look online see if yer local store has licensing to get it, place an order and wait for it to show up. They advertise variety for 32.99 per lb, every place else is 40 plus per lb.

Honestly it might be a wait to get it but if they can get it for advertised pricing go for it.......

Btw 4166 is a decent replacement for RL 15

I'm pretty sure there's some locally - have you tried Pullens?
