Has any one put optics on one of these guns yet and if so what are you using ? Just got one today and would like to hear what may be the best one to use . Thanks !
 
I put the Leupold Delta Point on my 40 core. the only drawback is the locking screws that are on the back of the unit. With the rear sight you have to either bend the torx wrench that comes with it so it fits or take the unit off to tighten them after you zero it. I went the latter way. after I zeroed the unit I removed it and tightened the locking screws. when I put it back on it was still zeroed. Overall I am very happy with the Delta Point.

im running the delta point on mine as well.
im using the big MAO one, what is it a 7(?)

i like being able to see the irons through the optic (co-witness) and i knew for sure the deltapoint did that, what was my rational for going with the Leupold.

Do you find the 2moa dot to be a quick pick-up when you look through the sight? My only experience is with my Aimpoint T1 and I have to say that I find the small dot hard to find sometimes, especially outside.
 
For those of you who've bought these, where did you get them and what did you pay?

I'm interested in the 4.25 inch version.
 
I just picked up a 5 inch CORE at Calgary Shooting Centre for $899. Given the current Canadian dollar, that's not to bad. They are very hard to find and I don't recall seeing any available in the 4.25" length in recent memory anywhere in Canada. I think TSE has one of the 4.25" Performance Center versions in .40 for $1099 right now though.

Me personally I do ot have a problem picking it up. I have adjusted the brightness to just under half which makes the dot nice an bright and easy to pick up with out obscuring the target

Not a fan of the ported ones but thanks Krashb.

$899 bums me out considering IRUNGUNS had a sale on them a while back, like $625 or something.
 
Yeah, that sucks for sure. It never pays to hesitate when it comes to buying guns in this country! Looks like IRG has them for $727.50 USD now. plus import shipping, etc.. :( that works out to a little less than $900 not including shipping from their Canadian office to you. Damn lousy dollar...
 
I've agonized over the barrel length like a late bloomer in a locker room - but I've come to the conclusion that bigger isn't always better.

I want a 4.25 :)
 
I've had M&Ps in both lengths and I can say from experience that the 5" ones do shoot a bit smoother than their shorter brothers. With the popularity of the long slide version, there are plenty of quality holster choices out there as well. I really don;t see a downside to the longer version; other than the shorter one looks a bit cooler. ;) but to each, his own. Good luck in your quest!
 
ive got a 9 and a 40 in the 4.25" barrel and a 45 and 9 PRO CORE in the 5" (and a compact in 9) and i find that longer ones are more accurate, not much, but over the course of a afternoon it starts to show. while i personally am more partial to the shorter barrels the accuracy for me at least is in the longer ones.

i paid $839 for mine back at the beginning of 2013 when they first made it up here and i put out another 503.99 for the DP and got them both from Wanstalls.
last year irungunz had them for 600 and change but then you needed to ship (twice) and convert so the price was very comparable to what i paid.

I actually like the look of 5" version better than my 4.25" M&P.
