I was thinking a early form of snap cap but 20 gauge would be .615 and 16 gauge would be .663. Ignore Sunray he swoops,and poops and flies away.

There is no rim on them and the pin is adjustable with set screws.

Maybe an inspection / measuring gauge of some sort? Are the pins all the same diameter?

It also looks like the bodies are different lengths......

It is close in size to .600 Nitro Express case. .005 larger than bullet dia. but just a little smaller than the case dia so, with a bit of tape it would chamber nicely.... depending on the exact length.... A headspace gauge for .600 NE ?

There was a horizontal pinfire where the pin stuck out the back of the round but that doesn't explain the second hole beside the pin.

what other parts were there? is it from a gunsmith kinda place?

Could they be a fuse of some sort? Like a pencil fuse with the acid inside that eats away the igniter/spring until it fires?
