How long before sks disappear from market?

They aren't all here in Canada or in working condition

They may not all be in Canada but there is still all the chinese and yugos. At one point there imports will start too when the russian are done. This is a business world, subsitutes will be found will every last one is gone. I would not be surprised if there were 200,000 million worldwide from all countrys. SKS shortage? no. SVT40, enfield, grand.... Yes...

I am guessing that there are more SKS owned by canadians then any other rifle... can anyone speculate?..Having said that, I have only been in this hobby for 11 years.

How long do you think before sks rifles disappear from market 3 year? 5 year or 10 years.
And what will be the price of them then?

Al

Is that what you mean in your question?

Surplus .303 Brit dried up long ago. Didn't seem to have that effect on LE's.

Tyson

LE's are also way more cool, collectable, accurate and have lots more actual war history with them though, so people don't mind buying small amounts of commercial .303 ammo or take the time to reload for it. Not sure about people wanting to reload for an SKS rifle that is just a HIGH volume plinker!

This is my thoughts, and exactly why confiscation of it like was mentioned won't work. Bigger driving force of people behind it.

There is 10 billiOn rds up f0rsale in. Kerdistan.

There are pr0b 6million sks 0n the market
As f0r new pr0duti0n. Ak is cheaper t0 make then an sks. When said 3rd w0rk sh-t h0le sells there sks f0r m0ney f0r new guns then we will see. M0re.

Can never see them going over $400 in the foreseeable future ie. 10 years. They might slowly go up in price to maybe $400, but really there are millions and millions of them still to be sold... There is always a new shipment of thousands coming in.

EVERY Canadian gun owner has one of them, some have ten of them. With those facts in mind how would they ever climb above $400? Even if they totally evaporated tomorrow (wont happen) I cant see them going above $400, because everyone who wants one already has 1-10 of them.

That being said they are a bargain at $200, great deal at $300, worth $400, at $500 it would never fly.

I think SKS is so popular because it's cheap and ammo is cheap. It doesn't have much historical value and it's not a popular among hunters. SKS is very robust meaning that it's lives long and a lot of them are already in Canada. So I don't think price will seriously increase in near future, even if supply of mulsup SKS dries out price would climb slowly in my opinion. But who knows...

The SKS isnt so popular, because its simply a gun that costs little money.

The SKS is so popular because it's A LOT of gun for little money.

I can think of more expensive and popular guns with less history. Prices don't always have to make sense. Think of the M1 Garands sold for 200-400 about 10-15 years ago, now they go from 1000-2000 easy.

You're right. Actually, if the SKS was featured as the main rifle in an upcoming big budget war film, it would be the worst thing for us as shooters and collectors of the rifle.
Prices would soar based on new awareness of the rifle and the increased demand that often follows.

Wow so many haters. Did I ask someone to buy SKS from me. I asked a question because I am concern. Supply and quality is in a big dark hole right now. Prices of Sks went up if you don't see it then you are crazy. Go to Wanstalls, HiCaliber, Reliable, Frontier, Tradex Lever Arms, Cabelas, Wholesale and check it out. If you hate westrifle so much than buy from those dealers this topic was not started to sell more sks.I brought 2000 sks 3 weeks ago and I have 200 left in stock do you think I need to advertise? We find out info that Canada ammo is trying to buy Chinese SKS great news I am happy for them. Good luck to Chris and his new Venture.
