What are your recommendations for 22LR

I've owned a few and have settled on an original Browning Challenger. They're not made any more but they still show up used on the EE from time to time. I find the balance and trigger to be superior than the Rugers I've owned. Mine's be 100% reliable in the eight years I've owned it.

For a training pistol I have an ISSC M22,l so that being said I would probably recommend a S&W M&P22 lol. The ISSC feeds CCI ammo well but not much else; and now that mini mags are pretty much impossible to find I dont use it much. But if you want something accurate and reliable your best bet is something like a Buckmark or equivalent.

depends on how much you want to spend and how big your hands are.

for small hands and with a budget, the Browning 1911-22 would be a good one to look at. I love mine. it really is a a lot of fun to shoot. being 80% 1911 frame it's not for big hands, but with HV ammo, has good recoil and keeps you on the ball to stay on target.

for less, the Ruger 22/45 is good too. I bought last year's Lite model and I really enjoy it. most accurate of all my pistols.

I also shoot the M&P22, fun to shoot, not so accurate.

or you can look at the Ruger Mk III series, very nice pistol. I have the SS Target, but do find it large and heavy so am thinking of selling it. for the 22/45 and Mark III, lots of accessories to tweak, upgrade and make more accurate. you may have fun with that if you're a fiddler. :)

So depending on your budget and how patient you are. For a wheel gun S&W 617 in 6 or 10 shot. I have a 10 shot with red dot and love it. For semi's, take your pick - Ruger MKIII Target or Hunter model, S&W Model 41, Browning Medalist or Beretta Model 89. I've own all of these and they are all very accurate and tons of fun to shoot. That's my take on it plus there are alot of other good choices out there, again depending on budget and patience. Have fun finding that first 22 pistol.

I use a kadet kit on my cz75 shadow and love it.
Kadet kit gives you abiliy to shoot 22lr on cz75 frame. Takes 10 seconds to switch between 22lr and 9 mm. Same awesome trigger. Same laser accuracy. Slide locks back on empty. I dont plan to buy another 22lr handgun.

If you have any interest in centerfire pistols, you could get a SIG 226 .22 rimfire and a conversion kit for a centerfire cartridge, less expensively than buying individual rimfire and centerfire pistols. In a revolver I think the M-17 S&W is the top choice.

Ruger Mark III Target Bull Barrell, well balanced in the hand and it works flawless, all black with wooden grips, beautiful one.

P.S.: accuracy is 19" inches behind the gun :)
