Target Sports Canada Membership

Thanks for this, JR, it really does seem like the right step to take and I'm glad we're getting a first class range and shooting experience.

So those of us who paid for a membership back in March or April and are awaiting our CLSC will be contacted by Target Sports (aka Calibre) to schedule this new two-hour all-in-one CLSC and probationary shoot sometime after mid-July? Will you still be processing our CSSA memberships since those fees were also paid?

Any monies collected for the CSSA will be forwarded.

Yes, expect an email or call over the next couple of weeks. We are just putting the final touches on things.

Thank the lord, this and Bill C-42 makes July a month of many good things to come. Who knows maybe won't even need LATT once I finish my CLSC :D:D

JR great news

My ATT which expire in 2019 says Grange Firearms Association

Should that name on the ATT be changed or it's good to go

Thanks

pretty sure you will still need a LTATT because your current RPAL does not have conditions for transport. you will get that when you renew your RPAL.

Had another question. In the past, Range A was largely for Grange use with Range B primarily being for walk-ins. It seems that Range B's backstop is now rated higher than Range A's (handling rifle calibres) and with a couple of bays having bench rests as well.

Will one range still be club exclusive? If members want to use their ARs or other rifles, which means using Range B, and it's full of walk-ins, do they still get priority?

When will you be excepting new memberships? I am a member at Burlington for 4 years. I will be moving to the east end of Toronto and would be interested in joining even more if it is streamed lined orientation.

Once the new dividers go in, there will no longer be exclusives as we are keeping rifle on one side and would not want to disadvantage the membership.

However, the new layout will increase the number of lanes from 18 usable to 25 usable: 12 on A and 13 on B.

This also includes 2 lowered rifle sytle benches on B (either end) which are oversized.

We are also going to chamge the inside door between the bays to make it easier to go between. Which means you can start on one side and move over if all the rifle lanes are full without a ton of grief.

It will take some figuring, but we will probably just reserve some lanes as we do in Calgary for walk-ins as necessary, but still provide tons of space for members. I promise members will not be shut out.

i believe this will work out best for everyone.

We are accepting members now.

It is only going to take a couple of weeks before we can start running our safety orientation which is required to have been successfully completed before we can submit the LTATT form to the CFO's office.

I want to state clearly as well that the Grange executive have been very helpful and dedicated to the current members throughout the discussions. The protection of the members has always been Dr. Hawke's primary goal.

It will be good for about a year. When you "renew", it will be into my club and we will apply, if still required, for your LTATT.

I think we should express appreciation to Dr. Hawke, BJ and the others who run the Grange for their efforts and providing a necessary service to the community. The changes are welcome, but those of us who started at the Grange appreciate the difficult and time consuming effort it takes to run a club.

Certainly! J.R., Please convey our appreciation to those who served the club.

Has anyone received a call / email from CSA yet regarding the scheduling of the new CLSC? I paid and sign-up back in April and still waiting, not sure if my application got lost in the transition.

Wow!!!!! I'm so happy I don't live in the GTA anymore. My range in Alberta cost me $200 and got my fob the same day. The end.

I understand and in a few weeks, at Target, that is how it will be. Depending on how soon the new member can attend the orientation, which will be run very often, start to finish could be the same day.

Now that's good news. Good job guys for stepping up. Now what do people do with all that 7.62X39 fmj? People want to shoot cheap ammo.

Sorry, not in my facility. That steel core/jacket surplus stuff is a killer on steel plates up close like a 25 metre range.
