Springer type air pistol....I like the concept as no cans to buy, and one pump not 20, just for ####s n giggles and the odd squirrel that tries to destroy my bird feeders....

As long as it's under 495 fps...it's just an airgun.

Use with discretion.

It doesn't have the guts to kill a squirrel cleanly.

Over that fps, it's a restricted handgun with all of the same rules.

I have one. I like it though because it's a springer you have to use an artillery grip to get it to group.

I never tested it thoroughly to find out which pellet it likes. I'll give it a try.

I had to mod the front sight as it was too low but it was easy to do.

Can't be beat for the money
Shoots strong and accurate, being a springer it has a kick.
decent sights, easy to ####, built like a tank. A Russian tank!

Where and how much?
$69 from Baikal Canada....runs about 400fps with standard 7gr pellets from what I can find online. 495fps and 5.7 joules (about 4.2ft/lbs) I think is the measurement for airguns, not just fps. 7gr at 400fps is under 2.5ft/lbs so lots of room to play with alloys etc. Has a hammer forged barrel too which is kind of nice...

Yeah, must exceed both those together to become a 'gun'.

Background story. CTire, Walmart and the like were selling the cheap lightweight PBA pellets that were advertised to make your gun "25 % Faster!", which would have made a bunch of corporate criminals out of all the sellers of sub-500fps pistol air guns, so they added that the gun had to both exceed the velocity AND the energy for it to count.

If you crunch the numbers, it does not give you anything useful unless you wish to shoot styrofoam beads really really fast.

So, you can shoot bowling balls at 490 feet per second, and you are legal. Which is to say, you are not in any way limited, by the energy measurements, until you go faster than the ~500fps limit. Or you can shoot styrofoam beads at several thousand feet per second, as long as you do not exceed the 5.Joules limit.

It wasn't put in there to help out the shooters. More like to keep the Corporate types from being sent up, thus stopping the money flow from donors.

Cheers

Got mine pretty quickly.... Next day after ordering. First impression was wow.... this thing looks like a bad joke, it's huge!
Cleaned it up, adjusted the sights....had to push down on the rear sight while turning the knob to get it to lower. Trigger was really light, and it shot really well at 25 feet. Turns out to be pretty fun to shoot even though it looks a like a big pile of #### lol.
Kinda reminds me of my first Tokarev....I thought what the hell did I just buy? Rough and ugly, looks a like pile of ####....but shoots well, and works well.

looks good, I was also looking at a Beeman P17.. seems to have great reviews other then going through seals...

It's not bad for the price....it's growing on me pretty quickly. Definitely lots of fun to shoot. I was reading reviews of the Benjamin NP trail pistol which is similar, but the reviews were not too great. Gun is made in China, 7lb trigger, sights move on the gun, shoots low due to barrel droop, none of these problems with this guy.

Only drawback is no grooves for scope mount.

Maybe Yours is a dud, Mines dead accurate at 10m, I guess it depends whether Your talking nickels, dimes or quarters?

Huh? I said I don't need a scope on a pistol for shooting at 10m? I never said it wasn't accurate, just that 10m is pretty close for target shooting and a scope isn't necessary.
I dunno, I don't have scopes on any of my pistols (real ones) and shoot those at 25-100m....10m with irons feels like I'm cheating or something, it's a joke lol
You might squeeze another few meters out of it with good groups, but these are pretty much 10m pistols. I'll bring it to the pistol range some day and try mortaring some rounds in at 25m...
