I agree that you and all members should keep the club/range operating safely and legally to ensure its ongoing viability.
What's being contested here however is the interpretation of the law itself as well as what should be the law moving forward into the future.
What the laws should be and what the laws are are two completely different things, I agree that the mag limits are ridiculous and don't make anyone safer or stop any crimes but the law is the law and whether we agree with it or not the charges that come with breaking them and the consequences to the range are not good for anyone.
Unfortunately the NFA has pretty much imploded and I have no idea what the CSSA has been fighting for lately but the only way we're going to get any positive movement is if we follow the laws and support legal groups that are fighting for us.
The problem I have with everyone throwing all their trust in the PC party is that most don't realize that they are not pro gun ownership or pro anything firearms related. They are simply the least anti firearms party out there and if they thought it would get them more votes taking away our rights to firearms they would do it in a heartbeat.
We are truly doomed if more people don't start supporting the legal groups that are fighting for our rights in the courts.
We need to come together, stop squabbling and become a united group. Whenever one group throws another under the bus thinking that it's protecting their interests they are weakening the entire group. Divide and conquer is the game the anti's play and we are suckers that fall for it every time. Funny thing is that it seems like the black rifle and pistol crowd is pretty good but the non restricted hunting rifle crowd (fudds

) think that they are protecting themselves by doing it. They don't realize that once the restricted and black rifles are gone that they will be next.
last week I was shooting beside a young guy armedwith prohibited magazines. When I asked him where he purchased them he replied the States, he basically said the law was foolish after I confronted him that it was a bad idea that he was using them.
My club is under tremendous pressure from the CFO so I couldn't stand by any longer and the shooter was removed. Every body needs to understand that as foolish as the laws are we must follow them so asking for 30 round capacity BW mags is just asking for trouble. Push back quietly and through the proper channels and avoid giving the anti's ammunition at all costs.
Not sure why he would go to the states to get 30 round mags when they can be bought right here and 30 seconds with a cordless drill returns them to their natural normal capacity state. He's on the extra dumb list I guess, risk getting caught with a prohibited device here and risk getting caught smuggling them across the border. Good for you for talking to him and telling him to leave. Idiots like that are the people who end up getting places shut down and more of our already limited rights taken away.
Agreed, push back legally, simply breaking the law because you don't agree with it only hurts the group. It's just like speeding, the speed limit may be stupid and unreasonably low but get caught breaking it and you still get a ticket, get caught breaking it too many times and you'll be taking the bus.
