Falcon's warranty sucks...the website says lifetime warranty but what they don't say is that they've only been doing that for the last 18 months or so. Their intentional lack of this information is misleading to say the least. Basically if you don't have a receipt, you don't have a warranty. This is a huge deal when you can spend a little more to buy a Vortex or Leupold and get a better scope and hassle free warranty. Resale value is definately affected.
I jumped through hoops for two weeks conversing with Allen Gun Works who referred me to SFRC who referred me to Frontier Firearms who referred me to Falcon Optics in UK who referred me back to Allen Gun Works...who was left to deal with it but has not responded in two weeks even though they said they'd get back to me in a couple days. save yourself a hassle and buy a more reputable brand who stands behind their product.
If Falcon now has a lifetime warranty why not blanket all the scopes instead of ones made after a certain date which are indistinguishable by any means other than a receipt...or maybe they could have marked newer lifetime warranty models appropriately. Basically even if you buy a new one with lifetime warranty, you still won't get service without a receipt because you will have no means of proving if it was made before or after their decision to change the warranty. The way they have set this up will affect all future scope sales and warranty for ever and ever. Caveat Emptor.

Leupold for the win!
What's wrong with your Falcon? I bought one form Allen as well but I haven't used it much......to bad about the BS warranty support!

The scope had flecks of paint/dust on the internal lense, and while I was advised it was defineatley a warranty issue...I was simultaneously advised I did not have a warranty without a receipt. Btw...I"m also a huge leupold fan. Not a fan of spending more than I have to but I am a firm believer in the old adage that you get what you pay for.

I'm not touting for Falcon but I do own one of the pre-lifetime warranty ones. "Hells Bells" they're $450 !! The reticle in my T-Pal cost nearly that.

Where are the $450.00 Leupie 5 x 25 x 50 tactical scopes guys ? I want one or two.

The nice thing with a "Leupie" is you can be the 5th buyer, with no receipt ,and even though you bought that 5X25X50 tactical well used for $450 it still has a lifetime warranty!

If I understand correctly, the newer Falcons have a lifetime warranty too but apparently that's being called a scam cause you can't claim it without a proof of purchase. When the Canadian distributor for Leupold claimed Leupold's warranty was void in Canada if the scope wasn't purchased through him, that wasn't a scam ,, huh ?

My own scope has no warranty. I'll just have to settle for the fact that its still working ;) .

I'll speak from my own experience. You might even find my old posts. I had issues with my 4-14 Falcon years back and sent it back to Falcon UK and no receipt or proof of purchase was required. They tested the scope and mailed me back the 5.5-25 scope with extra $50 from me. I was the first in Canada to even have that model at the time.

There are always two sides to every coin and my experience was good. I hope your issue gets resolved. Nowadays every respected optics manufacturer should offer Lifetime warranty and back it up.

When I puchased my 4-14, I knew the waranty was 5 years not transferable. I knew because I did my homework.
I don't think Buyers not doing their homework have the right to call it a scam.
Before you buy something, check your stuff.

Actually, I checked the website before I made the purchase and it said lifetime warranty. Since then, they have changed the warranty to: please contact dealer for details.

well do not want to burst your bubble but if your scope is not coming from Canada from Korth Group you may have some issues with the warranty ....

After a certain date. Scopes imported prior to the cut-off are covered, regardless of who imported them. If buying a used scope it might be worth checking prior to laying the money down.

As far as Falcon goes, I've had my experiences with the brand, and I wouldn't touch one with someone else's ten foot pole.

I have to agree. Got turned onto Falcon 5 or 6 years ago. Really liked the first one I bought, so I bought a second one. I now have 4 of them, one purchased used. Over the last year one of the 4-14's had the focus knob come off while shooting my .308, and the one 5-25 had the eyepiece come loose, so that the reticle would bounce to a different spot every shot. Looked into the warrantee and basically discovered that I'd kissed goodbye about a thousand bucks. Vortex Viper starts at about $650, but at least they have a bulletproof warrantee. It is not an FFP scope, but at least in 5 years I'm confident that I'll still have a usable scope. This has actually cost me even more money, because I now have absolutely no confidence in the 2 Falcon's that I have left, and would not depend on them for anything other than plinking at the range.

Any Leupold scope imported since 2013 must have been imported according to Leupold's, and US State Dept, and US Homeland Security's direction and policy. Therefore any Leupold scope brought into Canada contrary to Leupold's policy since 2013, is still warrantied, it however must be serviced by Leupold USA in Oregon.

Hmmm, maybe we could do a sticky for Leupold serial number cutoff dates?

I had a Bushnell Trophy that I got used on a rifle I bought. There was a problem with it. I sent it back - no receipt, anything. A few weeks later I got a brand new Trophy, with Butler Creek lens caps.

Actually, a guy I was talking to claimed to have gotten similar service on an NcStar scope.

A lifetime warranty won't do you much good if the company doesn't exist down the road, or they just decide that they aren't going to cover it, or if some one-man show distribution/importer decides its not worth the hassle.

Whoa... easy there! Do you not realize you are conversing with the Canadian distributor there don't you?
