The T97 Thread!

Where does one send a T97 in for repair? I've had it less than a year and assume it's still under some sort of 1 year warranty. Mine doesn't chamber rounds anymore. They fit half way in and just stop as if something is blocking the bolt from pushing them all the way in. They even feed crooked now, pushing the bullet into the casing. Tried a bunch of different mags this time, and the same thing happens.

did you ask where you bought it?

What part of the mags were you grinding down? The spine part on the back?

side of the spine yeah

I bought it online, out of province. I am pleading ignorance on this, but I assumed there were gunsmiths licensed to work on certain brand firearms under (and not under) warranty, like there are for cars? First time I've ever needed to get a firearm "looked at".

I'm kind of surprised I haven't seen any photos of it here yet. Reliable Gun has had them for a while now, and it looks like they even had a few in FDE.

That's a factory railed upper, not the T97 upper

I'd ask north Sylva, I believe they imported the T97's

can anyone tell me how the paddle mag release will work?? I have 2 type 97's and its really the only thing i dont like about them. IM still on the fence about ordering a lower yet. how is everyone liking them so far?

^^ This, I agree, the most annnoying thing about The T97 is the mag release.. makes Zero sense. Did you find out what is the best/simplest solution for this?

I machined a larger button the other night. It's just a bit smaller than a nickle and the face is dished. Definitely much easier to find and push with left index finger. Sticks out a bit from right side of rifle...doesn't seem to catch or get bumped, will have to test more.

I was 90% there with making a left side ambi mag release...but then made a booboo on the mill and ruined the part. Put it on hold for now...I'll start over later.

I was going to try and make an AR style trigger block safety...but t97.ca's lower has all that so I will probably just buy that eventually. I kind of like the rounded forend as it is though.

Got a hold of a T97 last month finally finished it to my liking the other day.

Got the FTU on it, added Magpul MBUS, eotech 552 I got on the cheap, and a side poly rail. I also modified the feed ramp as per the post earlier in this thread and it completely solved the common feeding issues it has (all of which were caused by loose fitting mags). Sling is just a hella-comfy laptop bag sling I've had since 10th grade. I would really love to find an original QBZ95 lower handguard for it, anyone know of any that might be sold anywhere?
