just out of curiosity did the original military VZ58's suffer from the "germlin" problem that the cz858 had?? im not knocking the cz858 i have one myself and am just curious, because i know the CSA ones have the tab that prevents it.

Also i thought the only real problem with the CSA 58 rifles was the .223 version, does the 7.62 version have much issues?

I had a 2013 7.62 that had to be replaced. My 2014 stamped replacement seems gtg so far (first 400 rnds). It also runs really well with the ar mag adaptor that dropped right in. The warranty service on the first rifle was three trips and forever before I finally got the replacement.

I'm thinking mine is a 14 but can't find a year on the gun? I've got over a 1000 rds. on my x39 VZ and runs like a champ!!!
That's why I asked Grumpy to do a vid!!

Right side of the sight block should have a proof mark and a year for example 12 for 2012

The military versions didn't have the gremlin issue as they had the full auto parts. the majority of the 858's never had a problem.

While you're right that the 223 versions had a lot of problems, there were a lot of issues with some of the 7.62x39 models (excessive head space, out of spec frames etc.) and there were a lot of issues with the 7.5" shorties, improper sized pistons, breaking pistons etc.

I have been waiting for this for 2 years.... Huge thanks to the whole wolverine crew for persistence. Extra special thanks to Mr Wolverine for all his efforts and cash!!

I was hoping to save for the utas 15 at the new price point but.... if these come in in the Canadian edition.... I may have to start collecting cans and scrap metal from the side of the road.

What, wait. A necro thread, that actually delivers?

This would be so sweet. I'm not sure about the sub $800 part, but still. If those $750.00 deals ever did come back, I bet every single one would sell, no matter how many were brought in.
A sub 800 dollar , 30 caliber gun that pisses people off because it looks like an AK?
Where do I send my cash ?
