Need a shot timer.

Looking for a shot timer. Not sure whats better CED/Competition Electronics..
It obviously needs to be a timer but I would like it to be used inside my apartment.

It all depends on the features you want. I never got into the bells and whistles end of things I just know from using a friends that it was simple, effective and reasonably priced. I seem to remember that my friend ordered his direct from the company and they were fantastic to deal with
 
The 7000Pro could have been the best timer made, tons of extra functions, a display that showed a lot of info without having to press buttons. But CED decided to focus on that stupid watch.

If you are looking for a practice timer, the PACT MkIV XP is the way to go, hands down. Adjustable volume so that you're not pissing off your neighbours or piercing your eardrums. Also has a full keypad so it's easy to set par times.
 
I was about to buy a Pro-II but found a great deal on a 7000 in the EE. I have used it at several matches and numerous practice sessions with no complaints.
Plenty of options and easy to use.
My only concern was the rechargeable battery pack vs a standard type, but it holds a charge just fine and replacements are available should it become an issue.
 
I like my pocket pro a lot for training. Setting par times and switching between delay / instant start could not be easier.

I use my CED7000 (not pro) for matches. Lots of info available, but settings are buried in menus.
 
the problem with CED stuff is it seems to be made to be disposable. I'd happily support RU Ready if they'd make a timer that #1 provided decent settings and options, #2 didn't look like it was made in the 70s, #3 had decent buttons, #4 had a much bigger screen. Think Pro7000, but done right.
 
I've been playing with the pocket Pro and it's not bad as a basic timer, better for matches though than anything else. The Pro 2 would make a better training timer but neither touch the pact MKIV as a training timer.
I bought 8 Pocket Pro timers for nationals and they are probably the best match timer, you'll see them used throughout the USA. For training buy the pact mkiv
 
I've had my CED 7000 for about 4 years now. It's still going strong and holds enough charge to run all day even on colder days when most batteries are struggling.

For apartment drills it's simple enough to stick a small patch of masking tape over the sound hole for the BEEP! That'll mute it down to where it sounds no worse than a microwave beeper.

IIRC , there was/is an Issue with RU Ready timers not starting to time at the same spot. ie. before,during,after the beep. Not an issue if you have one for yourself or a couple at a small match but at a large match ...
 
It depends on the features you want. If you just want a timer that buzzes and records your time, any will do and lots of suggestions given above.

We sell the CED 7000's and the DAA Watches so I will give you a couple pro's of these:

CED7000:

Very small and loaded with features including adjustable sensitivity, filters, par times, multiple strings etc. They also have accessories like skins, belt clips, battery packs and so on. It features a multi line LCD display.

DAA ShotMaxx

A timer that attaches to your wrist like a watch and has one major advantage. It has a built in sensors that can detect the gun recoiling. Why do you care about this? Well, it means you can shoot right next to someone else at the range and it will ONLY pick up your shots. This is not possible with a microphone only based timer. It also acts like a watch with stop watch, alarms etc. Another cool feature is that it has blue tooth can can communicate with the DAA App for Iphone which allows you to create practice sessions and save all that info to your phone. This timer is also sensitive enough to pick up airsoft and often, dry fire. Pretty cool. This is not ideal for matches as you really can't easily pass a watch around.

I had a PACT IV before and it has tons of features but the thing is HUGE and would slow down as the memory went full.

Everyone uses RU ready timers at matches and they work fine but as mentioned, they only have basic features.

I ordered the CED7k from you guys cause you were the cheapest :D
I might think of doing a watch later on. Its kinda cool it has bluetooth. I didn't know that.
