So who bought the SFP9?

Handled one today, I wouldn't give up my PPQ for it, the trigger is not nearly as nice.

Can you be a little more specific?

Was it larger/bulkier than PPQ?? Looks like it in pictures but I've never handled one.

Have you held a P30? It will be very close to that, the frame would be nearly identical. The bore axis should be a little lower. And the slide a little shorter.

I handled a PPQ,...it is a bit chunkier up top compared to my old P30L. The VPP/SFP9 has less material at the back than the P30L, so your hand is up higher towards the slide,...and if I am correct, the slide on the P30 series is taller than the Vp9. IF I am correct, the vp9 should have a less muzzle flip/ rise than the P30 series.

Whats better about the ppq other than being "first time cool"? Almost every review ive seen puts it on par with the ppq.

So far I love my SFP9/VP9 but I'm not going to lie and while I definitely like the overall ergonomics of this platform better than my PPQ, I'm not going to lie; the PPQ has a noticeably better trigger. Slightly less travel, marginally crisper break, but most noticeable (at least to me) much shorter reset travel.

Now in all fairness, their is just in dry fire so far. I'm hoping to take the SFP and PPQ to the range for a head to head tomorrow.

Yes, it might have been others as well, but Hickok45 did say exactly that. His assessment was basically that while the PPQ definitely has the better trigger (not vastly, but slightly), the VP9 is the better feeling, better shooting gun.

The HK has cleaner lines visually to my eye. Both shoot well and have excellent triggers.
The adjustable palm swell feature on the HK is unique but some say it makes for a squishy grip....?

Squishy? I can't say that I ever noticed a squishy feel on either my VP9/SFP9 or the P30's that I used to own. I'd say if it feels squishy then the shooter may have it set up wrong. The side panels lock in pretty solid and come in three different sized/profiles. The small one is completely flat, no swell at all, so it is easy to get what is practically a custom fit.

On a side note, I find the PPQ grip to be almost a bit short and narrow feeling. It's hard to quantify as I always have a secure grip but I always feel like my hand is sliding off the bottom of the grip. It's not, but it sure feels like it is... Like I said, it's hard to describe but I definitely like gripping the HK better.

Good to hear Krausb, it's not the best to shoot with a death grip on the gun anyways but if you don't notice flex that's perfect.
The PPQ fits my hand like a glove, haven't had a chance to try the HK yet.

Are you guys using a proper 2.8mm pin punch to remove the back/side straps?

These things appear to be unicorns to find...and the closest equivalent 7/64 also seems to be hard to find.

I'm just scared if I use something other than those, I might bust the pin - and that may be tough to find a replacement...

Brownells should have the roll pin punches. Princess Auto has some not sure of that size.... Careful grinding of a drill bit shank might work in a pinch.
