So, I am clearly a (Glock) Genius.

I know the feeling - searched my garage for two days to find a spring from my 10/22 trigger assembly. I found it but chit what a pain.
 
I've considered building one of those 'bio-hazard' type boxes, with the clear acrylic plastic, just for that very genius reason. So when the parts fly, they are captured in the box. And also, when the sweat drips off your forehead as your hands are shaking, it won't get any moisture on your gun parts. I think there may be a good market for those on this forum. I also speak from experience(s).
 
Been there too...never did find the part....used every expletive in my Arsenal..lol ...however some smartarse recommended disassembly in a plastic bag....it does work...
 
I have a Glock parts kit from the Glockstore and that is one of the parts not included in the kit. 1-800-601-8273 is the Glockstore # if this helps you. They do list the parts for about $6.00 on the parts sheet that was included.

Years ago after joining the genius club when working on a Benelli safety plunger, I now use the bags that you get when picking up your dry cleaning when playing with potential flying gun part shrapnel.
 
I'm near you and have the spring loaded bearing but forgot to order the spring as a spare part. So it doesn't help you unless someone else has the spring. C'mon guys help a fellow Gunnut out.

I can't recall which gun it was now, but I also had a spring do sudden expletive laden disappearing act. It flew into a part of the basement I was storing crap leading up to a move and there was no way to get in there without a day's work.

My geniuser moment: Attached some little rare earth magnets to the cat, and threw a bunch of cat treats into every nook and cranny I could find. Not only did I get my spring back, but also a socket, countless drywall screws, and the little grate to the basement floor drain. Oops.
