do any of you have waterfowl birds mounted????

Black Brant at alert, one flying wall mount, Lrge Snow Goose wall mount flying, Pintail standing at alert as well.
The flying birds take up lots of space as did my #### Pheastant standing as well.
Best to have an understanding ole lady....

agreed - unless you have a special room or large display case, it's not really worth getting a bunch done. I have a fair number and have eventually donated some to museums and others are in the basement under plastic (all done pre-marriage). Wall mounts (flying posture) actually seem easier to keep out in the open, and look quite natural. Get a good taxidermist who understands bird posture - ask to see examples.

Wish I could post photos straight from my phone. I've got a few done up (and a couple at the taxi man right now)
Depending on what you are thinking about getting done I recommend getting it under glass, it makes keeping them clean much easier. Under glass is hard to accomplish if it's a flying mounts or a wall mount though.
I'd root around Google images and see what catches your eye.

This is my favourite I have

Really good specimen's of full colour drakes can be nice, especially woodies, wigeon, gadwall, cans & reds.
One mount I really liked a buddy had done ... a drake can & a drake redhead, both mounted so that they looked like they were freshly killed, hung head-down from a rawhide lace around their legs. Looked like they'd just been hung on a nail on the outter cabin wall after the hunt. Different but nice ... sorta like a still life painting.

Dead mounts can be beautiful but like all taxidermy it has to be done right. I've been considering a dead mount but figured I should get the birds home from the taxidermists before sending more.

Most of mine now sit on shelves in the craft room for god sakes since the house is just too small for a man cave for me. Sucks
These were all done at least 25-30 years ago

Also have a few others somewhere like a black, mallard, different teal etc

Ok.... I will bite.... I get flamed for being an idiot every time I post this..... Back about 8 years, I accidentally harvested a harlequin.... It was far from where it should have been and I was jump shooting puddle ducks and had zero in the bag, so was not worried about a species limit..... It flushed against a setting sun and I only saw the shadow.... When I realized what I had I called the CO office and they charged me $200 and gave me permission to keep the duck....

I post not to brag, but because I felt the mistake I made deserved better than soup or a frying pan, and I think I did the best I could to give it honour..... It's both a thing of beauty and a reminder to me....

I'm getting a ruffed grouse and a woodcock done.
I figure I'll have more room for the grouse if I have it in flight up in the wall. I had wanted a drumming table mount but I don't have the space.

Post your upland birds to please.

All the dam owls and hawks around here ate them on me ;) Some of them below and are rough but considering they were mostly hit by big trucks understandable
They are still after the pheasant and want nothing to do with the spruce grouse ;)
